I am curious what speed will I see at let say 6500rpm in 5th gear?
Car is a 6 speed 3.45 gear, weight about 3400bls and 1000rwhp? I want to know at what rpm in 5th gear before I see 200mph on my car. Since my car will have plentiful of hp, perhaps I could keep it in 6th gear? what are your thought?
I am cool now. I went to the other thread top speed 160mph. Found the speed calculator there and it works.
Well, look like I will have to keep it in 6th gear to reach 209mph at 6000rpm. Which is alright. Since turbo motor like engine load. So to keep it at 6th gear is work for me.

If your using 275/40/17 tires, I think this is correct...
5th @ 6500 = 180mph
5th @ 7200 = 200mph
6th @ 5600 = 200mph
A mate of mine, could only get 196km/h in 5th when he hit his rev limiter, he could get no more, and the speed was recorded with gps. If he changed into 6th, then he just started loosing speed
I have no facts to support this, but having watched lots of aerodynamic VERY FAST cars at the drags over the years get sideways or flip at the 1/4 finish line, the profile of a C-4 could become something of a "wing" and the car could become airborn at that speed. Be careful. We want to hear your stories!
Time has a way of erasing memories, but when we saw the Sundowner Corvette run 230 mph and some change, we were impressed. When it ran 240 mph, we went over and looked at it – a long time. The massage was flawless.
Well high speed stability should not be a factor. I read an article with a quote from John Lingenfelter that said " The C4 is the most stable production car I have ever driven over 200 MPH alot more so than the C5."
I figure he has more high speed runs in vettes than I do so I figure he can be trusted..

I know a couple of guys who have hit 200mph in stock bodied C4s. They hold fine. According to a couple of rags the C4 is actually more stable at high speed than the C5.
As you may know, Bruce, a car traveling 200 mph is moving the length of a football field EVERY SECOND! I hope you guys have got a very special driver for that feat. -- Eric
I want to try a 200mph barrier some day, but before I am attempt to do this, first I must get 4 brand new tires and up grade suspension. And dual calipers per wheel setup with 13" rotor.

Bruce,
Id check into Rippie's Wilwood package or some big Brembos. Ive heard really mixed reviews about that dual caliper setup. JeffVette has the Porsche Brembo system on his ZR1...its a sweet setup.
