$30,000??? If you were to spend $30,000 on a C4, you could have a ZR1 or a Callaway (like the one on ebay for $32k). I'd like to see you beat a Callaway aerobody. I don't know how much you think vettes, cost, but I spent about half what you did on your stang for my vette. If I were to put that difference into my vette, I'd smoke you all day long. As my vette stands now, I'd lose against your drag rustang, but refer to my above post on that oppinion :yesnod:

I can't understand all the bashing. :confused: I've had a couple of Rustangs and still have one now. (86 GT, definitely RUSTang) . I bought my 93 5.0 coupe brand new for $15k. I guarantee that no other new car that cost $15k would touch it. However the Mustang has not kept up with the F-body.

I'm sure I'll probally own several rustangs in the future too. As well as Vettes.

Trashing this poor guys car that he obviously spent considerable time and $$ on will not make him want a Vette. He'll just go out of his way to tell everyone else want a bunch of a-holes Vette owners are. :rolleyes: And I hope he's not right. :(

the race car is very sweet looking and quick, however a chevy would definitely be quicker if he put the same amount of money in a chevy engine...but he won't listen to good old dad...all i get is you paid 26 thou for your vette in 86 and only go high 13's....i have 24 thou in my stang and go 11's....he'll never get it..to each his own i guess...however it makes for a good family rivalry...lol :rolleyes:

Yes RUSTAINs can be built up to be fast goodiety handling ugly looking ghetto g-thug wanna be crap cars.... I won't doubt that one in the least ;P

You're argument against the Viper is totally off base, go STOCK vs STOCK, or MOD vs MOD to have a fair comparison.

My stock 2000 Cougar cost me $22k, built by Ford, breaks constantly and falls apart, and is expensive as cranberry juice to repair.

My '88 Corvette, sat for 6 yrs in kentucky before I bought it, on damaged tire rotten tires, with thick glue for oil and low on coolant, it ran to 120mph smoking by my Cougar. Take your FORD and drop it in the hills of kentucky with crap maintenance done to it it's whole life and 6yrs of sitting and see it hit 120mph out of the garage ;P It also only cost me $8750

Repair costs also are quite cheap on my 'Vette compared to my cougar, $145 for new Alt, $30 for new battery, hrmm I couldn't even locate the alternator in my cougar if I tried in that tiny a** engine bay.

Lets compare years also:
My '88 = 13 yrs old
Your '92 = 9 yrs old
My '00 = 1 yr old
Your '01 = <1 yr old

I'd be pissed if I bought a car that was brand new and it lost to a 13 or 15yr old car that are both stock ;P

I would race my '88 against your '01 any day ;) If I dropped equivelant amounts of money that you did into your FORDs, my 'Vette would run faster and last longer.

Getting a 5.0 to run fast for cheap isn't a feat of any kind, ever moron with 20 bucks to his name and 3 missing teeth owns one and thinks he's the goodie, it's mass produced junk, designed to fall apart. It's like ricers, parts are cheaper when you build 4 million of the car. The more rare the car the more costly the parts ;P

I love my 'Vette compared to my FORD, my FORD is doing it's job as being the beater car that I hate. Also I've gotten comments from people saying "Nice Car!" about my 'Vette when it's barely started it's restoration here and cost me a massive $8750, show me another $8750 car that gets those comments and I'll acuse you of stealing it ;P

Either way I like a car that's designed to look good and be enjoyable to drive, and not one that makes me look like a punk. My CEO of my firm likes my 'Vette and thinks it's cool I work on it, and my other boss's think it's fun to ride in, if I drove up in a 5.0 they'd probably be laughing at me while they escort me out the building ;P

 

I have one question......When you buy your Vette's do they ALL come with the book " You own a Vette, now here is how to act like a d!ckhead!"? You guys make no sense. BTW if you wanna talk about overpriced. Go by a new Z28. It will easily be $5,000 more than a Mustang, and only a few tenths faster. If I spent that extra $5,000 on my '01 I would have a supercharged 11 second street car that would really put all your panties in a bunch.

If he went out and bought a Vette, would it put more money in your paycheck? I love Vettes and have for a long time. I have also owned Mustangs. Some of you, who bash the mustang, wouldn't stand a chance head to head, I know that from experience. Don't even try to debate it. The best you could do is talk MORE cranberry juice. Some of us grew up in Chevy's and some of us grew up in Ford's....period. Why all the bs about who beats who. Isn't the love of your personal car enough to get you through the day without talking cranberry juice?

Bottom Line: If you need to talk trash about someone's car...maybe it really is a different issue...look between your legs and see if maybe your a little short there. STOP THE BASHING!! I owned a mustang once. A 1990 GT 5 speed. I now have a 1990 corvette six speed. The corvette is definitely faster. If you want to show him what a vette is all about, take him on a road course. His 11 sec stang qwill do him no good there. Most real sports cars (exotic) are built for road performance not straight line racing. No flames just the truth.
