My oldest son went out and bought a new 2001 Mustang GT....what's a father to do.....i know i raised him right ( only droped him once ). :confused:

 

I have almost the same problem with my step-son (he's not old enough to drive, and has no money to buy a car) but he is head over heals nuts over the Mustangs :confused: :confused:

His mother, uncle, grandfather etc. are a died in the wool GM family. Mostly Chevy, with a few good cars from the other divisions. My wife's college car was a Olds 442 with a 455 under the hood. She tells stories of her drag racing for money days, she would even make em pay to look under the hood when they didn't believe what engine she had.

Back to the subject - what should we do with these whippersnappers that love these FixOrRepairDaily cars???

 

vette drivers are tolerant...
as drivers grow up, they'll understand... and switch opinion :D

Recently on the forum someone asked why everyone liked the looks of the back end of there corvettes, look this up and tell your son this is the view he will be seeing if he buys a mustang and ever races a corvette, hay thet don't make the word CORVETTE on the back for nothing

It really depends on what year model Mustang you are talking about. FORD stopped making MUSTANGS in 1973 and from then on, they've been not much more than glorified Pinto's since then.

I used to collect Mustangs (65-70 only) I had a 70 Boss 302, which I'd put up against any vette in a road course. I also had several 69 Mach I's. One of which was a factory 428 Super Cobra Jet. Another one was originally a 390, but I dropped in a 427 with dual 4bbl's, and I'd would have been happy to run against any vette in the 1/4 mile.

I would be very happy to have another REAL Mustang parked in the garage along side my Vette.

he's really talkin some crap now.....i guess i'll have to put the ET Streets back on and head to the track.....i'm not really sure what the latest version of the Rustang runs...he's got a 5 speed and i'm sure i can count on him missin at least 1 gear........ :smash: lol....i'll have to remind him what the back of a vette looks like.

 

Just think, he wants to maintain that father son bonding. You know when the rustang breaks he'll ask you to help fix it. :jester

 

well i think he got the extended....extended......extended warranty...smart move on his part, so i don't think i'll have to work on it. and i already have a trash bag with holes for my eyes.....just in case he wants to take me for a ride. :bigears

I see I shouldn't take my dad out of the old folks home on the weekends anymore. He is getting a little frisky. He knows my new Stang will smoke his Vette, and he already knows my 92 isn't even fair game. I have two things to say. First I have less $$$ in my 92 than he does in his Vette, and I am going 11.5X's. He is going 13.98X's :rolleyes: . Second, my dad is the only person I know who put on slicks and actually went slower. :lol:

You might have gone faster in a RUSTANG... but it's still a RUSTANG..... vettes will always have supiority over RUSTANG's. I have a couple of friends like you that spend less on their rustang when they buy it and put money into it to make it faster which you could have used to just buy a vette in the first place :eek:, and i just don't get it. Fast rustang.... or a stock vette (which is still freakin' fast)... fast rustang..... or vette ... GEE LEMME THINK?!?!?!?!

Haven't you ever heard the phrase "vette's get 'em wet"?? There is a very true meaning behind that phrase, and rustang guys will never find out :lol:

So when you drive down the road, you're just another mustang... like all the stupid highschool girls that just got their license and have a 6-banger mustang, and the guys that buy a 6-banger and put COBRA emblems on them :rolleyes:. There are too many of them on the road to take pride. I see at least a few at every corner here in Plano. How many vettes do I see at ever corner? Well, there's myself, and maybe one other (and they usually wave). Where I go to school at OU, there are 4 students with vettes... My '94, 2 early C4's (red and black), and one football player with a '00 black C5 (go figure). How many rustangs are there in town... god.. toooo damn many to count. It's rediclous.

Anyway.. have fun with your 11.8 sec rustang :lol: while we're crusin gettin' the looks :D. Might take a little more money on our behalf to get to that 11sec mark, but it's well worth it when ya do.
