A while back, someone posted a way to hook up a time delay relay that would turn it off when you start the car and then if you want it on you can hit the button and it's on. You might find it in a search. Robert Oh, and I always turn mine off...it's way too sensitive for me.
Midamerica used to sell the switch to convert it this way, not sure if they still do. Like a few others have stated, I turn it off before the car starts moving unless it's raining. I turn it off occasionally in the rain when I wanna get sideways through the first 3 gears. Lane swaps are much easier then, just use pedal instead of steering wheel.

I run with ASR off unless its raining or damp.
When it kicks in it upsets the car badly. I've gone around a couple of turns where the pavement is rough and at normal speed (10 - 25) when it comes on I don't know if its going to force the car to pinch the curb, or kick the back all the way out to the other lane. Its just rough pavement! With ASR off you feel the bumps and it tracks in a straight line.
