there is no downside to an X pipe, only good things.

From the cats to a small amount of pipe to an x-pipe back to the elims. The x-pipe is put as close to the engine as you can get. Definetly x-pipe, not straight pipe in place of the resonator from what I've read on here and heard from others.

And yes, it sounds awesome.

yummy, i think the only differance might be that mine pops more when i let off the gas...the only reason id go to an X pipe would be if it gave me gains in Hp or performance. how about headers? can I leave stock cats on and have headrs? short or long, I heard short headers are better...who knows...I sure dont?

I dont think you can use the cats in the stock location with long tubes. You will have to move them. And long tubes are definately better. I have heard shorties give very marginal power gains. Shorties are much lighter than the stock exhaust manifolds though.

so if i go with an X-pipe will i loose even more of a loss of power because now its gunna be eliminating more pressure i had. like gettin rid of the resonator will eliminate that pressure. is that good or bad i dunno...

Default chambered exhaust

how 'bout this system on Corvette Central Exhaust?

http://www.corvettecentralexhaust.com/c4perfcham.htm#

they use an H pipe instead of an X pipe...any difference? I'm trying to figure out what cat-back system to replace my stock exhaust on my '94 vette. not sure if the system in my link is too loud to be legal in New Jersey, but i have to believe it would improve performance and sound great. Any thoughts?

Can anyone explain the difference between chambered muffler elims and straight muffler elims?

im not sure but when i looked at a new set of chambered elims. it looked like there were a bunch of chambers along the middle of the exhaust like infront of where the resonator is supposed ot be. too bad this doesnt help you probebly. i dont know the differance either, thats just what i noticed fromt the look. good thing i started this forum because its helpfull as He!!

Well, multiply this sound by 2...maybe more, LOL...I just added longtubes, and kept the brand new high flow cat, but added some compression...it's a good bit louder, to say the least. I like loud cars/trucks, and have opwned nothing but them in the last 20 years, but I think I am actually going to add some mufflers now....

I was just kidding...
Don't worry, mine aren't going anywhere...

Now that I finally have the "bugs" worked out, I'll try to get a new, fresh soundclip this weekend.

Thanks in advance

PB Blaster usually works well on rust, but if pipes were overtightened and kinked around where the clamps are/were, you'll be in for a fight.

Do you have an air compressor, or are you using hand tools only?
