Wow, that sucks. I've been thinking about an alternative to the SR and now I know I want to work on making a prototype.

SR is the same height as a TPI setup if I recall. ???
HSR is taller and hit the hoods on 3rdgen firebirds only. (I don't know about the vettes.
The org SR won't fit under the hood/cowl area of a 93-97 LT1 F-body so John made a "shorter" one for that app.

I was wondering.......

Didn't seem to make to sense that Lingefelter would make something that wouldn't fit the Vette in the first place.

Every Accel Super Ram that I have seen with the Lingenfelter upper plenum never had any hood clearance problems and fit just nicely without any issues using the stock hood.
It had better be, I am in the process of purchasing a complete set up right now for my 87 from Caboboy and should have it on sometime this Summer if all goes right.
I have heard nothing but good things from those who are using it, great performance gain, even some improvement in gas mileage and is 50 states LEGAL giving me the best of all worlds.

Hehehehe, I am already doing that and it is under construction. I call it the TPI Cross Ram. Here is a drawing for injector height and a CAD drawing.

First picture is of the welded up factory base. I will be using a Felpro 1206 intake gasket. 2nd picture is a drawing I did to determine the injector rail height. This will determine how low I can go on on the plenum. 3rd picture is of a CAD drawing showing the runner ports. With my small cap distributor there is no clearance problem but just barely.

You will notice a chunk of runner missing out of ports 1&3. This is where the aluminum extrusion runner part will go. With the factory base virtually all the runner portions will be gone except right around the injector boss area. The total runner length including the head will be around 14.75". This will allow me to pick up the 3rd harmonic wave with the peak in the 6500-6600rpm range.

Yes, I've seen your thread on this and the other ones as well on thirdgen. VERY impressive work. My idea goes in a little bit different direction though. I'll PM you.
