i made it with input drum..air chacked and works great...
3/4 clearence is 0,040'' i think this will be ok?
what do you think?

it's ok if i put on... a non straight backing plate?old style...with straight my cleasrences are not good(too big)....i saw that i can play with different steels to get tolerances like i wish....i will use raybestos blue plate 7 plate 3/4 kit...

i omited the relase springs...in all manuls they say that they are not necesary...or any ideas?do i have to put them?..
without them i will have much quicker 3-4 aply and this is what i want..

i also decided to go with transgo 2-3 reprograming kit..but i have to buy new transgo universal separate plate 700-P for 700R4 (4L60)81-93 since my original is destroyed in the place where the accumulators are(standard mistake)....till i got this from states..i will use a TCI constant preshure regulator..

tommorow i will chenge the check capsule valve..since i have new at home and maybe was this the main problem of 3/4 clutches burn out..
and i will test it against leaking...to get it out of the hole it will be real challenge...today i didn't make it..
any ideas?

i will also then start to put the lo side togheter and mybe i will finish the pump...

to rebuild the automatic transmission is not a 2 day work....so if you pay for labor 1000$ is real good deal....it takes a lot of concentration and patience with all this parts...

Experiment with steels till you get the 3-4 clearance down to .030-.040.
.030 is what I prefer, not most others.
Use the new style straight backing plate and 1-piece apply plate.
Many different thickness apply and backing plates available and 2 different thickness 3-4 large snap rings.

I installed 8 frictions into my 3-4 clutch.
Took some trickery and thinking on what steels, apply plate, & backing plate with a thin style large snap ring(.062").

I made a slide hammer tool to remove the checkball capsule from my 700R4 trans case.

I would purchase a Trans Go Hi-Rev spring kit.
Use the appropriate springs the instructions tell you to use.

Do not re engineer what Trans Go sold you in the Hi-Rev kit.
Trans Go people are smarter than You, myself, Pete, or any other transmission builder in this area.

Leave the 3-4 clutch pack Boost springs out.

You are your own 700R4 trans builder.
I am just your advisor.

I used an accumulation of tricks and parts choices from 4 different Pro- trans builders.
I heard 4 different recipes of 700R4 builds that I must do and others were entirely wrong each said to me.

I built my 87-1/2 700R4 trans my way.
Not anybody else standards set in stone.
Nearly 10,000 miles later of hard driving and speeds over 150Mph.
I know I was successful and right in my parts choices and my own blueprinting specs I used.

You 700R4 will be unique from mine and others too.
Being done your way by yourself.

You are armed and well equipped with knowledge and many tips to successfully rebuild that 700R4 trans yourself.

Have 100% complete confidence in your abilities to get the job done right the 1st time on your own.

I have confidence that you will be successful and ripping up the streets and highways in Serbia once again with your C4 Vette.

You will be buying a pair of new rear tires soon too.
You will have them bald and steel cords showing within 1 week after you get your rebuilt trans back in.

Sorry,

My buddie I grew up and drank a ton of beer with that is now a cop in Joliet, IL is of Slovenian nationality.
He loves his job despite being shot at weekly by the bad guys roaming Chicagoland.
He tells me about his adventures and I share mine with him.

Yes,
get the new Trans Go seperator plate. The best. I used it too.

7 frictions ok.
8 Frictions are even better in 3-4 for high performance use.

You will notice how much faster the 700R4 trans engages 3rd & 4th gear afterwards.
It should shift into 3rd or 4th faster than you can blink your left or right eye everytime if you set 3-4 to .030 & 8 frictions too.

My trans does now.
