I am ready to pull the trigger on a dual exhaust Pypes, 409 SS with a pair of Hi Flow Metal Substrate Cats... CVM11K and SCC40R
Do they come as good fit out of the box and,,, I have the Magnaflow SS exhaust now, should I keep the Pypes muffler or cut them off and put the Magnaflows on or use the Pypes muffler, the Pypes is a Single tube exhaust and the Magnaflow is a dual
I have not used them on my vette but i did have there system on my 79 trans am resto and the fit was great!
i had the polished stainless system with violator mufflers, looked and sounded awesome.

Mine is a true dual . Clamps loosen up a couple times . In a as delivered length they stuck out damn near 4 inches , not my preferance . I cut them down .
No drone no cats , love the sound .
i have that system w/o cats on my '85. i had do some cutting to get everything to match up with my hedman headers. not much though. it sounds great- low rumble at idle, aggressive at wot. nothing but compliments on the sound.
I have a set w/X-pipe on my '90. Great fit, great sound. The flange pulling the downpipe into the stock manifolds were drilled incorrectly, too narrow, and Pypes would not make that right. We just had the holes elongated but it would have been nice to skip that expense in the first place.... Hope this helps

I just drilled new holes , plenty of material in that flange .
