Well.... I must have a faulty ECU, no crank trigger signal
Installed a FAST Dual sync and a FAST crank trigger, I grounded out the Dual Sync Distributor Crank signal brown wire,,, but could not get a crank signal from the crank trigger to the ECU, yes i grounded the crank trigger 2 wire connector sheathing to ground
Ohmed the wires to the ecu,,,(1.5) checked good, checked the sensor by triggering the sensor with a metal washer and the ohm meter,, it was good,,, but still no signal and the car would not start
I grounded out the crank sensor and reconnected the Dual Sync crank trigger wire and it started up instantly, sounded great
Got an RMA from FAST Tech, great guys, gonna ship it out for check
Results are probably 3 weeks out

Thanks man, it sucks because of the wait time, but I will say that using the Dual Synch Cam signal and Crank trigger package is one sweet setup in terms of timing, once i phased the distributor to the 50-BTDC mark, the timing with teh FAST program and timing light were both dead nuts exact,, no bouncing around or wavering timing, I mean rock solid.
So the goal is to tune out the fuel smell, and get a dyno run that will be comparing the bank to bank with cats to sequential w/no cats.
In retrospect the overall cost grew FAST Package, $2100 for the XFI 2.0, $350 for the Dual Sync, and $250 for the Crank Trigger Kit making it @$2700 package
Actually the dual sync distributor will run the car perfectly by itself and give you a crank and cam signal with 50-btdc, but adding the crank trigger behind the serpentine crank pulley gives you better accuracy because it is a 7" diameter wheel as opposed to the 1" diameter distributor reluctor wheel.

ECU checked out fine, the crank trigger sensor was bad,, ECU is installed and car should be tuned with new dyno numbers, with no cats by Saturday

UPDATE: we have been chasing a 5000-rpm miss for the past several days now, I've replaced the spark plugs and coil with no change......
Today I will swap out the old MSD 6420 6AL for the new digital MSD 6425 Digital 6AL, and change the plug wires
It never freakin ennnnnddds!

This morning I spent 5 hours going thru wiring stuff to make sure that there is no RF noise... I found that the FAST contacts in the 32-pin connector do not engage tightly so fast is sending me new contacts and wires,,, I'm a littl P'O'd that I spent $3k and they tell me I need to fix their wiring...
Anyway, Monday He'll put it back on the dyno under load. So "IF" there is no noise, he'll tune it.

Tune update, the 5000 rpm miss is gone,
I put a new MSD 6AL on it and a new MSD coil, and rerouted the MSD wiring away from the ECU wiring, I'm not sure but I think the MSD wiring might have been creating noise in the wires leading to the ECU.
My tuner is going to the SEMA show so it will probably have to wait until the weekend

so I don't expect any top end gains, the main goal is to tune out the smell @ 925 - 1100 rpm, it will certainly be better in terms of smell with the sequential tune, but how much is the question.
My guy is at SEMA until Sunday, so another week bites the dust.
This HSR/406ci package is tapped out with the heads i have, so the next step will be an LSX in this (85) car, or buy a newer car with an LS engine already in it i.e. early C6

Based on the preliminary runs, without the cats, the car is back exactly where it was, 428-RWHP/458-RWTQ

sounds good. ill be changing something on my setup for next year. ill also have it tuned on the dyno with results!
i wont be selling mine or going with an LSX. no need!!
we will see how close i get to 475rwhp/475rwtq.
hope u keep the C4. owning a modded C4 that's done properly like yours is rare!!
C6's are the exact opposite......

I have all of the wiring pulled out and the new MSD will not fit in the same spot so I have a bunch of clean up work to do, I might pick it up tomorrow and finish tweaking the tune on my own.
The Crank Trigger is still not working, FAST is scratching their head and I'm sort of pi$$ed really, it is tuned using the Dual Synch distributor which was NOT the plan, at $3k for the setup, I'm disappointed in this in a major way so far,,, it's supposed to be plug n play, so I'l finish debugging the trigger during the winter.
If I don't use the MSD 6AL bracket I'll sell it,,,, I hope weather stays decent for a few weekends so I can drive it, the car has been down since September 1st
