You're just an *** hole to everybody. I come to you for help and you insult me and put me down. You can go screw.
There ya go! That ought to help...start w/the name calling.
Why don't you wake up, and listen to that which people w/experience tell you?? Ya come on here, asking semi ridiculous questions....people take their good time to help you and you:
*don't listen
*argue
*Tell the MAJORITY that they're all wrong
*Don't answer questions or post back any follow up
It's ridiculous man...and I'm not the only one to tell you that -just in this thread even! So who is the real a-hole in here? Sorry that the truth irritates you so much but like I said; wake up.
Daniel I will try to be as clear as I can. If I were you I would be doing this.
1. stop using butt dyno and getting your engine "repaired" over the phone call
2. do nothing until you get to dyno.
3. while in there, tune for most hp and torq you can. Dont aim for "magical" 12.8 afr, tune for what ever gives you most power.
4. post your results here, not the numbers but the picture of dyno sheet.

Actually he's not. He's usually one of the most helpful members of the forum. I will say -- when you started your build -- I saw you post some questionable things. I can't remember if it was the frequency/content but I lost interest in your threads and thought: "This is going to end with problems".
This isn't meant as an insult. It's to clarify there seems to be a hap-hazardness to your methods. You can go off into many directions w/o enough focus to the one at hand. As an observer, it's easy to think "Leave him alone"..."He'll figure it out".
That said, over the years I was guilty of asking lots of questions and trying to be detailed. Usually, I tried to focus on one thing at a time. You don't want to wear out patience in the process. And...even though everything posted can be a lesson for readers, when you're done, make sure to pass along the help/knowledge.
Most of all, try not to burn bridges....This resource is a great one!
Daniel I'm getting bit annoyed that first you ask for our help and when we help you, you argue. If you, or one of your 3 "professionals" know so much better than us, please dont ask for our help. I'm more than happy to help you, but please show us some respect and stop arguing.
ps. since your "professionals" don't know how to time the most produced automotive engine in the world, I think you should not use those guys for anythin..

That includes Tom.

Definitely Tom400cfi is a treasure. When I had problems with my crossfire smoking bad mileage hard to start hot, everyone said check the fuel pressure gety a fitting welded in for $10 (not in St Louis they wont).
Tom came in said on a CF dont worry about fp causing this problem, and gave a very simple test that made sense. I did it and sure enough found the problem I had been picking at for months that simple.
To some people he may come across as arrogant, but he knows what he knows and he doesnt need to back down on it.
He got me back to thinking the right way when he told me there was no reason to suspect the injector yet.
When I bought my car last year the guy said the window motor was bad, drivers side. It wouldnt go up or down. Back to a reasonable approach again, I decided to take my dmm and some wires out to the car. All it needed was a switch. I could have fixed it a few months ago. I just thought I doubt that motor is bad.
My problem was believing someone else instead of thinking myself better.
Yours could be arrogance.

Been there, done that, they couldn't fix it. I have a lot of knowledge about cars. The only reason why I ask it to confirm. You guys make me think I'm crazy, and in the end the things that I was talking about are persistent problems.
It doesn't benefit me if someone else does my work for me. That's what I do for a living, fix cars.
If you fix cars for a living, then you must be robbing banks to get cash.
Sad to see things like this happen,i would like armony and friendship here,we are just talking about an engine,no reasons to get angry.I feel embarrassed reading these posts.something like this happen to me in my Forum in Italy.we were talking about headers and modds and a guy, very active on the forum C4, argue with me and feel irritated by my posts and techinical statements...he asked to the Admin to be erased from the forum, and ,even if my statements were true,i felt guilty and responsible...i would like this discussion had taken a different perspective...
I can't afford to take it to the dyno right now, so it will be a few weeks before I get around to it. I have some other things to take car of. But I did notice a little more power by retarding the base timing on the distributor by 4 degrees. That put my total timing from 35 degrees, to 31 degrees. Maybe I'll find some more power around 33 or 34 degrees, or maybe if I try around 38 degrees something magical will happen. I'm going to try those next week.
But like I said I can't afford the dyno right now.
