Wow what a sweet looking car! What you got in for engine mods? Glad to see more LS engine swappers on this forum. Curious if anyone has done a diesel engine swap? I had a 6.6 LLY Duramax in my garage when I did my LQ9 swap, Probably easy get 1000rwhp and 2000ft*lbs out a duramax.
I thought everyone really hate me if I swapped in a diesel engine.
seeing an lly in the bay of my cousins sierra vs the 6.0l in my truck I'd wager a guess it probably wouldn't fit. It's a few inches wider longer and taller...

Why would anyone do that? It would be much bigger, heavier, and make a lot less power that whatever equivalent you could do with any version of an LS you'd want to try. I don't think making 1000hp (torque numbers are irrelevant to vehicle performance) with a 6.6L diesel is as easy as you think it is, either - at least if you expect it to last more than a few minutes. And if you could, the weight of the transmission you'd need to hold it (torque numbers very much matter here!) would add hundreds of pounds more. If you want easy 4-digit power, my friend at HPR has designed some 527ci LS engines (with taller deck height) that could do that with the smallest of turbos or a supercharger. Depending on the power curve you need, it could even do it n/a.
Still need to buy
An intake
Oil Pump
F Body Oil pan
Lifters
Motor Mounts
Starter
Offset Intake Rockers
Accessory Drive
Headers - Want to try to hack up some C5 headers
Ignition Controller - looking at the FAST EZ LS because it would probably work best with the rest of the FAST setup

rlane5, you have any pics of your ride? Sweet another LS C4. I thought that it was only Krusty and me.
I will take some pics the next time I go to my garage. I've had the LQ4 in my vette since 2013, and have the HCI since 2015. I'm going to either change to ported LS3 heads or a supercharger or turbo over the winter. But right now I'm looking at roll bars that will fit into the car. I was at the track, last week and I was told to slow the car down. I pulled the drag radials, off and stuck the street tires back on, and still ran 11.42 @ 118.9 MPH The car is detonating and it's on the rich side of the AFR. I needs a tune.

I have a EFI Live tuner program and trying to learn to tune with it. I had the program for at least three years

the reason I posted the pic was to show the CAI air ram on the bottom of the bumper

Any more detail? Looks like sheet metal. Looks interesting
It is sheet metal, I fab up, I have a SLP air filter lid that comes thru the bottom of the radiator support, and I fab the air filter box tube so that it was larger. I made two different tube ducts one for a screened MAF sensor and for a cartridge MAF sensor.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
