Wow,,, I wish I would have had that kind of money when I was 32... How much PSI was he running? Shoot, now my $50k sounds like a bargain...I'm not sure I have quite $50k in mine... and I'm not totalling up the receipts either... NEVER... Ahh. at least there are crazier people than me still remaining in the world... thank god!

Well, keep in mind, he paid a speed and body shop to do ALL of the work for him. He probably could have saved $50-75k doing it himself, not to mention that he had fiber glass work done for the rear flaring, hood work, and body kit.

You know, I meant to say that in my last post... How do you put $200k into a c3? Have someone else do all of the work.!!!!

I heard Chip Foose on one of the TV programs and he stated that they can easily have 6000-8000 man hours in one of their custom cars. Do the math.. Do you think Chip Foose and he crew get $20/hr... no! $30/hr...no! Probably at least $50-75/hr. As an attorney I understand about billable hours... I work with patent litigation and let me tell you.. you can run up a $200,000 bill in a matter of weeks without any difficulty whatsoever when you pay someone by the hour... hey, people can't work for free. I guess I should be working now...

Well, no radiator (which I've already paid for I might add)=No BG... Wish I could have made it.....this is why I hate depending on others....typical result..

Tony! Any updates?
Last night I finally got my 6 point roll bar (with swingouts like Paul's setup "Zelement") welded in place which was not fun as fire is a constant concern near wires, carpet, insulation, and fiberglass (and yes, I tried to remove as much as I could). It was VERY tight getting down into the footwells to weld the ends of the swingouts. I started with a kit purchased from Jegs but had to customize EVERYTHING to fit including the main hoop. I had it all chromed and it turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself. I also bought red G-Force cam-lock five point harnesses and have all of my attachment points ready to go (which required more customization since I also want to keep the factory seat belts). Tonight I will begin the assembly of the interior which should be fun.. I am expecting my famous radiator back from BeCool today or tomorrow.. If the planets line up just right I could have this thing on the road in a week or two...but I'm sure something else will happen to delay me.... of course. I have been taking picrtures along the way of my suspension, new engine mods, and my roll bar install. I will be posting a thread with all of my pictures as soon as I get this thing done and on the road....The one cool part of my roll bar install is that I made 1/4" steel plates that come up from the frame which I also added major gusseting to strengthen them even more... this moves the back legs outwardly away from the frame and allows the storage of my top... and I DO think it will be NHRA legal.. those brackets aren't going anywhere as I made them like my life depended on their strength... which it kindof does. Also, I did not install an angled cross bar as it gets in the way of your rearward vision bigtime ( I don't care as this is only a autocross mandate anyway.. my car is a street car so who cares?).

It's been kind of quiet on this board...what's going on with you?

Tony

Oh, and as a side note.... a guy in my neighborhood about one block down from me just bought a 360 Modena.... I might have to pay him a visit soon! And yes, I know no matter how powerful my car is it will never be a Ferrari, but it works for me!!!!! Ferraris are awesome to look at, but personally I wouldn't "necessarily" want one because I probably can't work on it, parts are ultra expensive and scarce, and they really aren't all that fast....I've just GOT to get this car on the road.. He cruised by my house this weekend in it (and it does look tough no doubt!!!) and he looked like he was on top of the world........I don't blame him!!! But, beware because "That old black beater C4 in your rearview mirror may be faster than you think".

Damn, you are making a lot of progress anyway. A chrome rollbar sounds awefully purdy.

Currently I'm getting my 8 rib conversion fabbed up (Thanks Bruce!) But while down time I'm going to get some things done I've been meaning too. Replacing my master and slave cylinder, changing rear and tranny fluid etc...

Well, I'm just stupified.... I received my radiator back from BeCool radiator for the second time and it is WRONG AGAIN.... I am just beside myself... How can they repeatedly get it so wrong? I swear there is zero communication between their sales department and the off-site fab shop.... I'm just stunned, they had my radiator for three weeks this time and managed to make only one of the minor changes that I could have done with my sawsall in five minutes (but I thought it was best to let them do it). Well, they got me and there is nothing I can do... After almost two years of intense unrelenting work almost every night after work my car sits needing only a radiator which is so close yet so far away..... I just don't get it.. if I were this incompetent I would have been fired or out of business long ago... I called and did the yelling and screaming thing to some innocent guy who just happened to be there... of course he promised to do everything he could... Sorry to vent, but I just hate being screwed and there is absolutely nothing I can do except wait another 2-3 weeks... in the meantime summer is rushing by.....I've been chasing a radiator now for over six months....including them trying to fix the one I put a hole in (my fault).

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The absolute worst part of modifying or working on cars in general is WAITING FOR PARTS! It's even worse when the supposed professionals fu(k up!

Hey Tony, you might wanna do what I finally did--Buy a motorcycle or another car that's STOCK and more reliable to have fun with them while your main "toy" is out of comission.....It does make you feel a little better.....a little.

Well, I can't have a motorcyle (I used to have one and I was REAL dangerous on it) since I have two little kids. I've been thinking about grabbing a Z06 for an everyday driver, but, there aren't that many left to buy at least around here... And of course it's another two seater.....I dunno...

Is that Becool Radiator just basically twice as wide as a stock version?

Believe me, if I would have had any idea of what I was going to go through I would have bought a radiator core (much like I did for my intercooler) and made my own radiator... and saved myself about $1,500.....live and learn.... live and learn...

She is looking good my friend - too bad about the rad again. Hopefully only a minor delay - I've half a mind to come down to your area once she is done for a test flight!!

You are absolutely welcome to come down here anytime... You have a place to stay if you do...me casa you casa... I could probably even cough up a garage space for you.... but it most likely won't have that cool flooring your machine is accustomed to... Is your beast getting close to being done? Do I need to make a few calls on your behalf? (just say the word!!!) I tell ya, it's like pulling teeth to get anything done around here (you probably say that a lot)
