Totally Pumped up!
The heads for those that do not already know are Brodix M2 T1 227cc
Here are the flow number for the heads, which for 23* heads are remarkable. These values are slightly unrated, with the new program they run on the CNC, but still show extremely impressive numbers THROUGHOUT the valve lift range. These babies should create enough power to propell our vettes through the quarter at bottom 10s to high 9s, and over 500rwhp and 500+ rwft-lbs if all goes as planned.
Here are the flow numbers.

Here are the quick pictures I took of the heads. They clear the Hooker Super Comp headers with ease with respect to the spark plugs. Actually I have more clearance now, than I did with the AFRs, and their l98 plug angle.
I also checked my Comp Cams Pro Mag RRs and they clear with about .030" to the 1.550 springs. Ralph had expressed some concerns on these clearance issues, but I do not report any. Ralph, I looked at mine and played with them a bunch. If you get longer valves you are going to aggrevate the problem worse. You need longer Pushrods I think to make the clearance greater. But maybe your setup is different.
The intake ports on these heads are pretty impressive. They RAMP up after about the first few inches, and the top of the port(bottom in the pictures below) have a vain to help air flow past the valve/guide. Both of these, as Ron at M2 said make these heads flow the impressive numbers they do.
The combustion chambers are also VERY nicely done. I went over the heads in with a fine tooth comb and could not find one complaint. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the way EVERYTHING with these heads went. Ron called several times, worked with us to find just the right valve springs, milled the heads for me (66cc) for free, and cut us a 10% discount on the price. The total for the heads came in at around $2275, shipped. And best of all, the delivery time was a mere 3 weeks, even with the holidays and such. I have to say I am pretty impressed and would higly recommend M2 in the future to anyone.
Now onto the pictures.
These show the spark plugs with regard to the headers. They all clear by a mile. As I said a few on my AFRs were pretty close, the one was closer than a 1/8" on the AFR, but never bothered the wire. These are really clear and should make spark plug changes a snap.

These ones show the intake and exhaust ports. Sorry for the picture quality I was in a hurry.

Here is the combustion chamber.
Well I hope you all liked the show, hopefully I can share with you some videos of the cars in action this spring. We are hoping to be in action in February if everything comes together as planned. Dang, I can't hardly wait!
   :auto:
With THAT kinda flow, I would supercharge that motor cuz those heads definately show they could flow it!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Do you have any plans to have them flowed to get the actual numbers ?
Vic
Cork and I are planning on taking our heads, his Brodex and my ported AFR 195's this weekend to see how they flow :yesnod:
I saw Cork's heads and their is no question I am envious. But a 383 does not require that size.
Jim
Do you have any plans to have them flowed to get the actual numbers ?
Vic
Yes, as a matter of fact, Corky is taking his out to OHIO to have them flowed this weekend. I will take mine out, as a double check when we take my Dad's 509 apart to build it into a 540ci motor cause we plan on checking his heads on a bench to see what the flow possibilities are. So I will check mine while we are heading out anyways.
Everyone we talked to about the heads, said they put out the numbers. A few guys this season were running them. One was a 410 CI motor, 2900# car running 9.6-9.7sec 1/4 mile times. He left the line infront of me while I was waiting to do my burnout. All can say is HOLY CRAP! Front wheels were off the ground about 3 feet and he was GONE! At that point I said, I gotta get me some of that action! :D

Post those flow numbers, OK? I'm anxious to see how they compare to whats published
Comparing the quality to the AFRs, I think hands down the Brodix heads are much nicer pieces. You can decide for yourselves from the pictures.

I saw the heads and I didn't realize how much of a difference until I looked at the pics. You, me and many many other forum members are waiting to see what they will do. I just hope I get to see it in person :yesnod:

Any plans for those extra square cooling holes in the T1s and what are your plans for that cooling bypass on the intake side (plug it?).
Your rockers, again I do not think your going to have a problem with. I did not have a chance to respond to your deflection concern. But will now. I don't think the deflection is an issueas the spring is at rest where you have the .025 clearance. It is only going to increase as the valve is opened, which is where possibly some deflection could take place. If your really worried, clearance the RRs a little. If I find a few of mine are .025" they are staying as is and upon the first lash resetting, i will check to make sure nothing is touching. If it is then I will clearance them, if not, I will write it off as enough clearance.
Your crank/cam are the only real heartbreak, and the way I would look at that is your getting a better setup, for a few hundred bucks. Your still WAY ahead of the game, trust me, i just figured out what I have spent in the last month  The old women is going to start getting irritated at me soon. :jester
You'll get it soon enough and all will be good when you rocket down the 1/4 the first time. I assure you will have a big :D ;)
Mine came in just before I went to England for Christmas. I think that MAYBE those that claim AFR's are the hotest thing on the planet now have some visual evidence that Brodix is the place to shop. Come spring you'll be able to show them your tail-lights as well
Like I told you last month they give great customer support, don't nickel-n-dime you on every little thing and have a real quality piece of equipment.
I've still not even seen mine yet. I'll be going to the machinist's this week to unload some more of my hard-earned cash for yet more parts to get the engine part of my project finished.
Seeing the side-by-side port shots is really an impressive sight. What size are you header primaries? Looks to me like you'll need 1 5/8" to get maximum flow out of them.
I wonder what AFR's excuse will be about their turn-around this time? Three weeks from ordering to in your hands...at the holiday's and the peak of the winter project builds to get cars ready for spring. Everything perfect and exactly the way you asked for it....isn't capitalism great?:flag
Good luck on the rest of the build-out. :hurray:
Do you have a AFR 220 CC head that's CNC ported you could set side by side and compare for us less fortunate to own such nice pieces?
Do you plan to still use the D-44 to harness all the power ?
