April-November pretty much daily driver... November-March is pretty much stored for winter, but it does come out about once a month on dry salt-free road days
2000 daily driver, 48k miles. I saw my first vette at the Motorama at the Chicago ampatheater in 1953. I had to wait 50 years to get one. I don't have a great deal of time left. I drive it every day. In the summer the only time the top is up is to wash it! It gets 32 MPG on the road.
I have a business trip next week in Columbus Ohio. It will take one hour longer to drive than to fly....... No brainer. When I drive the 6 hours I smile every mile vs. skowl every minute I fly.
They are built well. They are built to drive. Even with the Corvette tax, it's cheaper than a shrink...............
ZOOOM
I agree completely..... 45-50k a year is a lot of driving though. My Vette isn't my "daily driver" but I put about 20k a year on it and maybe another 20k on my other cars.
It's January and last night it was 60 degrees at the lowest, and I'm smilin' with the top down and a light jacket. Summer nights are 75 degrees; drivin' around top down in a t-shirt at midnight.
Luckily I park in public parking lots sometimes so I can make sure the top is still there.
I'm averaging 1800 miles a month since June 30th 2005.
But I don't drive when the sky is falling. I also own a 92 Blazer so I might as well drive it. I like to keep the Vette very clean and I also don't trust these other Southern Californian's rain-driving skills.
I have 7 vehicles, I try to drive all of them at least once durring week. I live 6 miles from work, so I go home at lunch time. I usually drive a different car back to work after lunch.
Daily driver. I also have a nice GMC 1500 p/u that I drive only when the weather is ugly.
When I first bought the C5, I drove the p/u daily and the C5 only evenings and weekends. I was concerned about putting a lot of miles on it at first, but then realized, I might as well enjoy the hell out of it and so what if I wear it out--I'll just buy another one.

I have a restored 73 Coupe for when I'm in a vintage mood, a modded Magnetic Red C5 for perfomance thrills (both are fair weather cars), and a mostly stock Silver C5 for daily use.

Just for pleasure i get laughted at by my friends at the corvette club i belong to because i have never have had it on the parkway or the turnpike and have never taken it on any long trips like they do i just can't do it.
It's our get-a-way car! Drive a company car for work and take the AE on road trips when it's not snowy. Weather's been great so far this winter...lots of nice days and very little snow. Looking forward to a road trip to Bowling Green in March!
