Nope, not dead, at least here. Just a few minutes ago I was going to lunch and a silver C6 pulled up behind me while I was stopped at a light. I looked in the reaview mirror, waved, and he promptly returned it. It's commonplace around here, still.

I seem to notice that us older guys in the older vettes seem to always wave. It seems to me that the younger guys in C5's and C6's are the ones who miss the wave the most often. At least that is the way it seems here in Louisville, KY.

I feel your pain, but like many have stated, don't give up. I got a wave returned to me from the opposite side of I-95 when I was cruising back from Orlando.

If you ever see me and my car down here in the Southeast, you will get a WAVE!

Here's a little story. When I first got my C5 I took it to the local Stop & Shop to get milk or something stupid ... just to go and drive it. I was looking for a safe spot to park and see this red '78 Vette way in the back by it's self so I pack right behind it.

Coming out the store I notice the C3 is gone and then see this active girl pulling out of the parking lot in it waving at me like some sort of waving fool ! So I wave back and she stops and puts her window down, smiles and yells over to me "Thanks for parking there! Nice car!" She gave me a and drove off.

Every since then, I wave to any Corvette I see ... If they don't wave back ... Screw 'em.

I got a wave the other day from a silver vert in Brookfield.

But then a blue C2 didn't even bother.

Wave not dead in the St. Petersburg, FL area. Saw three c5's on a trip to the beach and got three waves!

The best waves are when you ride a bike. When i had my Yamaha r6. EVERYONE would wave. Even on the cruisers. Thats how the vette guys/gals should be

Don't do it man!!! I get about 25% back on the waves but I keep on. Last week a nice looking blonde in a pewter C5 waved back at me. Sunday I met a guy in an identical black C5 that looked at me like I was a mutant from another planet. Some people just don't get it.

I taught my wife the wave. Now, she alerts me to the most optimal time to throw the so the other vette drivers can see it and i can pay attnetion to the driving. Plus she punches me in the shoulder if I'm not paying attention and miss one.

Seems to be the old guys here that do not wave...either that or their vision is going bad.

Went for a little fun-run this weekend with a buddie. Passed a C5 and a C4, got waves from both and waved back. It's very I don't care if they don't understand. If they don't know about it, they are probably trying to think who the heck they know that has a vette like mine. Here's one for ya.

The wave is not completely dead yet. I still get some waves from local Vette owners. Heck, I ran into a couple forum members here on the interstate last summer and they were flailing their arms out the windows at me

To me, blinking lights means speed trap or radar ahead. Besides, if they won't return the wave, they certainly won't return the blinking lights.

Just yesterday I had two girls in a Pewter coupe pull up beside me, smile, and return my wave. I wasn't sure they would, but was delighted they did.

One thing about these "wave" threads is I never see a person actually say that they never wave, where are they?
