You're ****ing nuts... now drive it to the beach in a few months... you deserve it
Its on my to do list
Stopped at my buddies shop to show him the car and had a couple locals pull in behind me, made for a great photo op lol. They were a couple of young guys so they were cool, after them talking to my buddy the running joke was that if there was going to be a high speed pursuit that I had to give them a 5 minute headstart

That's hilarious! Awesome thread. Reminds me of me when I was your age. Dropped a 455 into my 72 GS. First time I stepped on the pedal those 15" G60s spun so fast they just made a hissing sound.
The 335s look great. I'll be after more grip for my Z sooner than later. You mentioned ordering those 18X12s with a special offset?
Great photo with the cops!! Congrats on getting the car up and running again in record time..... Just be sure to break-in your rear diff this time according to DTE's recommendations, I'd hate to read about another teardown.
Torq I got a set of 18 X 12 Z Repros from house of wheels that came in an offset that you dont have to tub the car for them to fit
Im taking my dear sweet time with the diff this time around, Ive probably seen pretty much all of chester countys back roads.
ET sent Rapid a new set of shims and springs to deal with the possible valve float at high rpms so the end of next week they are going in and it hits the rollers to see if I can pick anything up
Awesome write up man. I just finished reading this entire thread and am in awe of your talents. I have an 02 that will get those mods, but over a long period of time. Reminds me of the days I worked on my 75. Hand tools in the cold weather, FUN. Looking forward to reading more.
Ok so I cant leave well enough alone, changed all the fluids and adjusted my RR coil-over which I had out adjusted and back in in 5 minutes... Pfadt .... then took the car out.
Put 15 more miles on it and everything was running perfect, moment of truth, went out on a local highway and cruised at about 70 in 4th and cracked it and went sideways
Ok well gee this isnt gonna be very productive, maybe 75 in 5th will work.... nope the *** end started to do the macerena again.
Oh well everything is purring like a kitten, ill wait till its not 30 degrees to give it a shot.
I know you've got Pfadt coil overs and VBP polys, but what bars are you running? That thing must handle amazingly.
What'd you lube the polys with? Curious at to how long the squeeking holds off
Pfadt coilovers, Hotchkis sways and VBP bushings, when I had the car out in the summer my buddies use to have to almost drag knee on their street bikes to keep up on on ramps
The bushing kit came with lube and used everybit of it, I really wanted to drill and tap grease ports onto my control arms which I might do when I have to take them apart to lube them again. What VBP should do is to the dry lube impregnated bushings like hotchkis did with my bars, they still slide like new when I have my bar off.

I've thought about that too... but the A-arms are cast aluminum or something right... I believe its been discussed in the auto-x/road racing forum and the general consensus was that it would weaken the arm, or potentially weaken it... but I'm not an engineer so I don't know. However... good grease fittings would be the way to fix the comming squeeking issues.

FWIW VBPs bushings are graphite impregnated... but they still squeek afte time because they're not deflecting like the stock rubber stuff.
