Z Reborn
Either way.... It's gonna be one SICK ride!!!

The car will see 1/4 mile action and a couple of my road race buddies want me to take it to Limerock and Watkins Glen and see how it can handle itself. I want to be able to put the car in any situation and have it perform, and then drive it home

BTW, what dragstrip you gonna run at? I usually cruise down to E-town.... I'd love to checkout that Vette of yours on the track! Be sure you're on your "A" game cuz that car is going to be a HAND FULL on the track.
I've been considering a swap from my select-ride factory setup to some coilovers. Maybe another mod for me to consider for the spring together with a much needed cage once my new motor combo is finished.
Keep the pix & updates coming on your project, I'm still FLOORED with how much of this project you're taking on yourself. GOOD STUFF!!

I usually run a Cecil County Dragway because they are very relaxed with the tech rules, my Lightning runs 10s all day with no cage or any other NHRA saftey spec equipment on it and they dont say a word. The truck is daily driven as well not a track truck so I never had any intention of putting stuff on it to make it "OK" for me to race my truck. The vette will lack the same things for it to be track legal so I will get the boot from most tracks after a pass or two.
The pics will keep flowing along with some vids when I get it all back together and running so stick around its gonna be fun. Whats funny is a bunch of my friends are all trying to decide what im going to build in the future if im doing something like this now and considering I just turned 21 it does make me wonder what ill put together when im 40?? Ill do some 550ci twin charged C9 Z06, yea I like the sound of that

Have to say one of my greatest memories as a young car guy many many years ago was a ride in a mod'ed 930 turbo... HOLY CR*P that thing would pin you to the seat!!! The owner was a mechanic for Amerispec in Danbury, CT. (they used to do the emissions stuff to certify Ferrari's for use in the States, saw a non-legal 959 there!).
I really hate to cut up the Vette too, but my goals for next year are to run the car pretty often.... I want to be able to keep my foot in it without fear of getting booted!.
Last time @ the track was a couple years ago and I basically idled through the traps in low 11's @ 102 mph! Not much fun, but the first half of the track was AWESOME!! hahahaaNice truck! Those Lightnings are very cool! If they were available in 4x4 or AWD, I might have purchased one too, I just can't get the Mrs. to approve 2 toys. OH WELL..... too many cars to choose from, too little $$$$$'s to spend.
Rest assured, I'll be keeping an eye on your progress. Looking forward to how you're going to tackle the mini-tub project!!
A little off topic, but do you work on the Porsche Dealer on Rt. 3? I used to work at Hill Caddy right across the street.

Yea I work at Brandywine Porsche on route 3 right across from Hill
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Im still waiting for my mini tub kit

.. although im just about out of stuff to buy, my list is pretty much been checked off as far as parts go. I have my fuel system and my roll bar, and thats about it for the major purchases its really kind of sad

You mentioned a roll bar, have you selected a vendor yet? I saw a post on this forum about a Neverlift 6pt (I think) that a guy had installed.... Looked awesome!
Oh wait, I forgot to whom I was writing..... You'll probably fab up your own chromemoly setup!
