I bought my Vette for a wedding present to the both of us - My husband didn't know how to drive an MN6 so he took lessons and drove it here and there. Then I met the CFNE - Well let's just say he doesn't understand the passion I have for MY VETTE. Don't think he ever will. Ask him he'll tell ya - he don't have a Vette
My wife "gets it". She understands, in fact she shares most of the things I do with the car .....I do the detailing and cleaning solo. But everything else - cruises, shows, social events, modding, etc........she condones it. I'm very grateful.
Mine is the Black Coupe and hers is the Pewter FRC below.

My last mod cost me 9200 and my wife asked me how much I spent.... I responded,,, are you sure you want to know. and she said Yes. I told her and her response was..... It does not bother me how much you spend on your car I know how much pleasure it brings you.... and to think I found her on match.com.//.. she wants to get me a supercharger for my bday... gota love it... and after the mod it had to build a garage to park my vette, that was another 15k... she likes it.... she is asking for a new stove....
My wife is just like this in fact today we just bought her a 98 red A4 CP w 32K on it for her to go along with my cammed Y2K. Plus I think she looks so much hotter in her torch red C5
She doesn't get it at all. Her famous quote after going to Bloomington Gold about 10 years ago: "I've now been to one car show. I don't want to go to another!" She does like riding in it, though.
Being the g/f of a guy who has one, and this will make him very proud as this is my 1st post, I think it is cool when he takes my kids "spinning", but I think he is nuts when he changes things over and over again. His car is beautiful with what he has done, why change a thing of beauty. But seeing him happy when it is all done, and the glowing mood he is in for at least a week after....is worth the work he puts in to it. But now....if only you can convince him to work on his video game obsession.....
She considers herself the luckiest lady in the world. I don't drink, chase, stay out late, lay on the couch watching football, I love my mother in law, I am the answer to every 50+ year old womens prayers. So I am almost flippin perfect. Actually she spends a lot of her time just shaking her head indisbelief, after all it's just a car, right?
I'm sure when my husband gets home he will chime in here but just like moserbe and mqqn--we are in it together---him with his C4 (that I am trying to get him into a C5) and me with my C5. Holidays are never a problem now. When we started dating and eventually married I told him---don't you EVER buy me an appliance as a gift---but hell now car parts are a differnt story...
And now that we have 2 running vettes (the third is being rebuilt) we take both cars everywhere. We have even registered for the next cruise in and registered both of us and are taking both cars---same with Carlisle..We can't make one feel left out now can we..
Here's the kicker for you all---we work at the same place and will still take both cars to work in the summer and park right next to each other---we also both take the long way home---and that is when we have nothing to do after work but go home...
She kept telling me to get one, but they were just too slow for me.
Then she said, "Find out what it will take to get it up to your good enough point and do it." After that, I bought an '00 Vert, and sent it out to get supercharged and then some before I even put 200 miles on it. Now it's acceptable.
