I have a serious problem

The Vette is a thoroughbred. Get back to a real car as soon as possible and you'll be fine.
It is a stick - she cant drive stick. So, I've been driving the Evo and she's been driving my Corvette.
Today, I got to have my car back (for the day at least).
It SUCKED.
The suspension is crappy. The steering feels heavy. The seats are terrible. It's even slower than her car!
I really dont know what to do here. I've been thinking about how much I'd like a C6, or the new Camaro when it comes out... but will that satisfy me? Is it worth trying to build up the C5, or will it just never be able to compete?
All I know is that I am suddenly unhappy with a car I've always loved, and it is not a good thing.
What you are experiencing is common.
You are going through that hated mid-life crisis thing where you begin to seemingly question all things that you once cherished and loved. It happens.
I do hope your high school sweetheart does not show up for your wife is doomed.
There is no way to escape this insidious trap other than via death or living long enough to no longer care. Until either occurs, I'd suggest you continue to drive the Vette and pray for an ephifany of some sort that will set your course back on the righteous path of...VETTES RULE!

In terms of looks and girl-gettin' ability the Vette wins easily.
I don't how you can be suprised at the responses you got from this forum. You're saying a "ricer" is better than a Vette on a Vette forum. Not that it isn't true but FWI this forum is overwhelmingly anti-anything but a Vette.

that was not a regular evo, it was an evo tuned in britain(EVO FQ400), and only sold there.. please do not confuse this with a regular 8 or 9 MR, that can be purchased in the states. There is a huge difference between them.. mainly the power output

There is a massive difference between a stock C5 on runcraps and a Z06
There are 3 things you can change to make your C5 a completely different car.
1. Ditch the runcraps and get some oem Z06 wheels and tires. Do not get heave bling bling crap aftermarket wheels... stay light.
2. Upgrade to a full Z06 supsension... you can subsititute bilstien sport shocks if you'd like , but hte '04 Z06 shocks are every bit as good. Also, you can subsititute something like the Hotchkis bars for the Z06 bars. All of this will give you 1000x better handling w/o a huge hit on ride quality.
3. Get a performance allignment to finish it up. All the right parts and a car can still feel sloppy w/o the right allignment. Caster plays a massive role in steering wheel feel. I'd recommend going to the factory max of the Z06 specs... I personally have more agressive specs, but I wear out tires faster.
Even w/o any power your car will feel like a completely new on and you won't think twice about the evo.
If you can only do one thing change the wheel/tires they make the largest difference of the things listed, 2nd do the allignment, and lastly the suspension bits.
