Default 2004 vs. 2001

I have a 2001 hacthback with 60k miles and my dad just bought a 2004 with about the same mileage. His 2004 rides better than my 2001. I was wondering what, if any, differences there are in suspension, riding ability.

If his has non-runflats or the adjustable suspension, that would explain why. Get rid of your runflats, replace em with non-runflats (best=Goodyear GSD3s) and you will be AMAZED at the difference in ride!

He may have the F55 suspension which is smoother than the F45 if you have it.

My car and his both have new run-flats. Just exactly what part of the suspension is adjustable?

Not enough info.
Are your cars base, Z51, or adjustable suspension?

Id say thats likely to be the main difference if youre both still on OEM tires.

It's not adjustable suspension. How can you tell the difference in F45 & F55?

sorry to get off track here, but is this adjustable suspension different from the base, F45, or Z51 suspensions? or is this a feature you can have on top of any of those or something? My 99 does have this suspension adjustment feature, but according to the options sticker in the glove compartment its got the base suspension package. Is that normal or was my glove compartment box replaced?

Look inside your glove box, there will be a list of options that your car has and it will either have F45, F55, or Z51.

Z51 is not an adjustable suspension. If you have the the switch for the adjustment then you have the F45. Here is a list of all the options for your year.

I just checked again. I had found that my car has the FE1 in the list of codes, which I thought meant it has the base suspension only. I checked again and I found that it also has F45 in the list. do they usually have both in the list?
