Your never too young, I get the same thing cause I look like a teenager when I 28. Hey do you live in SC? I work at a Michelin plant where a young guy just bought a ZO6.

i JUST bought my first Vette. A '98 Targa 6 speed at 23 years old. I had my '96 Z28 for about 1.5 years. I've always wanted a Vette and got mine and tell all the people that bitch about me owning one to f*** themselves

At your age, you're "too young". After a few more years it becomes a "midlife crisis". Add a few more, and you're a "crazy old fart".

I agree that they're just jealous. I put off my purchase for far too long, and fell into the middle category. Now, I don't hesitate to let everyone know just how affordable it really is to drive one of these amazing cars. Enjoy!

My guess is they are thinking that you probably still have a little too much testosterone to be driving such a car. Note, I'm not staying they are right (given that I don't know you), just that that is probably what they are thinking.

If you bought it yourself and it wasn't a graduation present from dad, then more power to you.

Don't worry what other people think or say. I was 21 when I got my first vette. A 66 427/425 vert. That was back in 1968 I now have an 01 6 speed and most of the comments I get now are look at that old gizzer, thinks he's a kid. Well this is my forth vette and I really don't care what other people think or say. Most of them just wish they were driving what you have.
Good luck and welcome to the family.

Im 24 now and im on my second vette. I go to a big corvette show every year in the mountains and im usually the youngest person there. I have the same problem. I go with with my Dad and Mom because they have vettes as well and every one thinks its my dads car. So i will show them this year because i went and had a custom plate made that says "NOTDADS". My dad says your never to young to be apart of something so good!

If you drive anything like me you would be better off driving something a bit cheaper first off that you can really beat on and not care too much - any late model F-body will work for this and be a nice transition car prior to the Z...

But since you already bought the Z enjoy it!

There may be a downside to a Z06 at 20. If you get a little tired of it and want to try something different, everything else that costs less than $70k (C6Z06) will likely dissapiont. I worked my way through the car ranks to get my Z06 at the ripe old age of 25. It might be a little sweeter when you have been through others and know just how good the car is. Just a thought.

I just picked up my first one earlier this month and I'm 23. I have already been getting the, "driving daddy's car" crap, and I think I have only had time to drive it 2 days since I bought it. It doesn't help that I look 18.

Just enjoy it. I bought a used C5 to hold me over a 1-2 more years so I can pick up a C6z...as long as the other half says it's ok

It's a much better drive compared to the RT/10 I was looking at.

Who cares what they think. You wanted the car, you got it and are obviously happy about it. Perhaps they are just jealous that you had the good sense to get America's sports car. Congrats on the purchase.

If your old enough to pay for it then you are old enough to have it IMHO... to hell with anybody that disagrees... Probably jealous that they waited too long or didn't seize the opportunity... Good for you
