IPOD2 Car
If you are an IPOD person and haven't done the IPOD2car mod yet, do it. I got mine installed yesterday with the help of forum member GTC. Actually, he did most of the work.
It is incredible, thousands of CD quality songs coming through my stock stereo. I put the IPOD in the console and control it with my stock stereo controls. It also charges the IPOD.
I created a couple of playlists last night. One for driving tunes and let my wife create one of the songs that I have that she likes. Today we went for a nice cruise. She even suggested taking a long route home.
I have a stock Bose head unit without the in trunk changer. I bought a Peripherals IPOD2 car adapter and a PHXGM4 cable. Remove the console and dash cover. Remove the stock stereo, pull one connector and replace it with one from the PHXGM4. Plug one of the cables from the PHXGM4 into the wiring harness and the other end into the IPOD2car. Then a cable from the IPOD2 car into the IPOD and you are good to go. There are a couple of switch settings. For my application, it was switches 3 and 8.
I think you will need a different cable and possibly different switch setting if you have the trunk changer.
But I am really glad that I already had the cd changer in the back, all I had to do was plug it in, set the switches, and route the wiring under the carpet and into my center console, and I was ready to roll.
Certainly not in the vette (not yet anyway).... but I have that same unit (ipod2car) in my toyota tacoma and couldn't be happier!!
I had this unit in a Dodge Ram 3 years ago and then swapped it over to the Tacoma just last year.
If anyone is looking for one - I bought mine off ebay from a vendor called "All Best Parts". Cheapest I could find and they've been good to me. I ordered my tacoma harnass from them also.
Here's a link to the auction - BUY it now for $104 (includes harnass) and $9.99 shipping.

I bought the GM iSimple from BestBuy. The packaging says it is compatible with the '97-04 corvette but once you open the packaging you'll find that the cables provided only work if you have the CD changer option.
If you don't have the CD changer you will also need to buy the GMH20T or the discontinued PHXGM4 (if you can find one). I don't have the CD changer so I got the GMH20T from discountcarstereo.com
The product is great. I can control the iPod from the iPod (some interfaces disable the iPod buttons) and I can use the factory seek buttons to skip forward and back in a playlist or within a song.
Thanks, I just ordered it and I hope they still have them in stock. I have e-mailed the manufacture twice in the past, they kept telling me they were on back ordered.
I just checked on e-bay, one seller has the ipod2car PXDP at buy it now or best offer for $59.
Exactly which IPOD2Car model do you use for connecting to the truck changer?
My best Buy guy looked clueless.
Do you mean TRUNK changer?
Good question...
I'm not totally sure but I'll take a guess at it -
Does your CD changer (in truck) have an additional port on it?
If yes - then you should be able to plug the ipod2car into that port.
If no - then it appears you can't run both ipod2car and the trunk changer at the same time. Unless there's an adapter/splitter that exists for CD changer ports? I honestly don't know....
That's how my setup is except your mount is nicer. I just have the cable run into the inside of the console so when I leave the car I just throw it in the console and lock it, or I can just leave it in the console so nobody sees it at all.

It is just a Ipod holder serewed onto my T/c pannel. (Ipod holder Ebay)
Get a holder, mount it ware you feal its right. The tape was no good and glew was ok for a week or two. Two screws worked grate for holding it in place.
Save the pic and zoom in. Pretty easy mod.

1 of my favorite mods so far.
Thanks,
I can hide it to but people will still see the holder. Mine has Video and I like to change songs from the Ipod so its better for me to have it out.
