Mine has been a great mod.... until.... I had to charge my car battery. Now I just get the message "err" when I try to hit the cd changer/aux button to switch to the iPod. Does anybody know what I can do to make it work again?

That's a weird one. Have you re-checked all of the connections?

Are you using a CD changer connection? if so try disconnecting it and plugging it back up. There was a post on the C5 audio facts that explains this problem. David

Yeah, did a search. I was just hoping to not have to pull the head unit just to unplug it and plug it back in. No cd changer harness, just the GM20T that plugs in back of the head unit.
If you are an IPOD person and haven't done the IPOD2car mod yet, do it. I got mine installed yesterday with the help of forum member GTC. Actually, he did most of the work.
It is incredible, thousands of CD quality songs coming through my stock stereo. I put the IPOD in the console and control it with my stock stereo controls. It also charges the IPOD.
I created a couple of playlists last night. One for driving tunes and let my wife create one of the songs that I have that she likes. Today we went for a nice cruise. She even suggested taking a long route home.
I have a stock Bose head unit without the in trunk changer. I bought a Peripherals IPOD2 car adapter and a PHXGM4 cable. Remove the console and dash cover. Remove the stock stereo, pull one connector and replace it with one from the PHXGM4. Plug one of the cables from the PHXGM4 into the wiring harness and the other end into the IPOD2car. Then a cable from the IPOD2 car into the IPOD and you are good to go. There are a couple of switch settings. For my application, it was switches 3 and 8.
I think you will need a different cable and possibly different switch setting if you have the trunk changer.
I love it!

Great write-up
I have the 2004,. with no trunk changer.
When I look at the rear of the stock bose head unit, I see.
the antenna connection,
a small multi-plug with 2 groups of 6 connections, = amp in trunk?
then the main plug, with loads'a connections
Which one did you disconnect to the PHXGM4 to
I presume the Ipod2car then connects to the PHXGM4 ?

Here's a picture that I borrowed from a post in the audio section.
You will disconnect a connector that looks like connector 1. Connector 1 will then plug into your stock stereo. The connector you removed will then be hooked into connector 3. Connector 2 will go to the IPOD2car.
This is a picture of the IPOD2car with a different cable, but you get the idea of what it looks like.
I got the stock headunit, Bose, with no changer in the trunk.
Then you also need the same as I do. ?
From what I understand the 2001's were the last Vette's to receive the non RDS head units. Your LCD display on your stock CD player should read RDS on the display....am I correct ??

I've got an 03 with stock Bose head unit and no CD changer in trunk. I do not see anything that reads RDS on the display. I just went out and checked.
I used the PXHGM4 cable but understand that is hard to get now. It took me three months to get it, so I believe that. According to the site that I bought mine from all 1997-2004s need the same cable:
Year Make Model
1997-2004 CHEVROLET Corvette
Plug Part#
AB-GM10
Notes
Must use GMH20T with AB-GM9 to connect at radio when trunk changer cable is NOT Available.
Switch Setting
GM Old
The two parts you will need are part# AB-GM10 and part# AUX-BOX or iPAC-OEM

BTW,
when I first ordered, I got the wrong cable. I have a PXHGM2/AB-GM10 which is used for cars with the trunk changer. If anyone needs it, I will give it to you.

I thought if you had a trunk changer, all you needed was the IPOD2CAR, not the PXHGM2 cable at all.
You need some kind of cable to hook up to it. I think it is the PXHGM2 cable.
Yes, you're right. Between the trunk cable unplugged from the CD Changer, into the AB-GM10, then into the IPOD2CAR unit. I thought it was already part of the overall cost, and that you just specify what cable you need. If not, and I need it, well, heck...I'll take it off your hands!
