I am not familiar with the Proclips mount. They look very nice. They are pricey though. About $55 with everything.
The thing I like about the ProClip stuff is that it is very solid and yet doesn't require you to cut, drill, or remove a single piece of your car's interior to mount or remove it. I've got a vehicle mount in each of my cars, then I use one of their 'move kits' to relocate the iPod between the two vehicles (so only one device mount is required).
The vehicle mount for the C5 will run you $30. The device mount for an iPod will be between $25 and $60, depending which mount you want. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that if anyone is interested in the ProClip stuff, send me a PM. I can get it for ~15% off the ProClip web site prices.
If you want a really expensive mount, check out http://www.kudausa.com. I got their upper vent mount and Garmin nuvi device mount. Cost me about $95.
I posted a picture earlier in the thread that shows the setup.

Those are pretty pricey. I'll try the one I bought from ebay and see how it works out. I will only use the IPOD in the Vette. I have Sirius satellite radio in my DD.
When you hit the next button does yours go to the next song as you expect? Mine seems to just cycle through the same three of four songs. If I just let it play it's like it thinks my ipod is a CD and will just play the same 10 songs over and over!!
I have this problem. If I hit the skip forward button on the head unit, it will usually skip forward, but occasionally it will skip backward roughly 4-5 songs. Very annoying. It seems to be random. [Edit: I didn't read your entire problem. Mine does not repeat the same 10 songs; it's only the HU skip forward button that has a problem. Are you sure it's not just the iPod repeating the playlist?]
I quit using the HU controls and only use the iPod controls to skip tracks. You still get most of the benefits of the iPod2Car, namely charging, power on/off, and volume control without having to touch the iPod.
I keep mine in the console where it gets very hot on long trips. On those occasions I either leave the console lid open or lay the iPod in the cupholder.

I haven't had this problem. Does it happen always or just sometimes?
I thought these questions had been answered, but maybe not.
Here we go!
PXHGM4:
used to hook up with the factory head unit without the CD changer in the trunk. See pic below. See my post #46 for connections.
IPOD2CAR:
Shown below. The white box that connects to your stereo via an adapter cable and then connects to your IPOD.
GMH20T:
Cable used for connecting your in trunk CD changer to IPOD2CAR. Shown in pic above.
PXHGM2/AB-GM10:
Same purpose as the GMH20T, just made by a different manufacturer.
I hope this helps. I am not familiar with the GM iSimple and Peripheral PXDP

Follow this thread for taking off the center console and dash plate. You will also need to take off the cover for the temperature sensor which is mentioned here.
You should not need to remove the shifter or ****.
I am posting this because forum member Patches wrote up some excellent instructions and should be commended. He is one of the original C5 experts. So . . . . . here is the link.

No, just sometimes, but often enough to be annoying. Often I don't even realize what's happened until 3 or 4 songs later when I say to myself, "Didn't I just hear this a few minutes ago??"
Well, I just tore my car apart to install this, and found out I don't have the correct cable for my car. They sent me a part number PXHGM2 cable. It is a female plug, that plugs into the harness that the radio plugs in to, but there is no male end to plug back into the radio.
I was an idiot when I ordered the adapter from them. I listed the wrong one. Now I get to tear the car apart a second time!
I installed the PAC Aux-Box in my 2004. If you don't have the CD changer, you'll probably need to get the factory cable for trunk mounting. I understand some have the cable installed. Mine did not. You will also need the GM-10 interface cable. A bit of a PITA to install, but well worth it! If you need more details of installation let me know: swwjr05@yahoo.com.

If it's not raining tomorrow, I am going on a nice cruise with the local Vette club. I'll check it out and see if mine does that.

It's easy enough to do. I too ordered the PXHGM2 cable. I went over to GTC's house and showed him what I had. He immediately knew that I had the wrong cable as he had just installed his. He saved me from taking mine apart twice.

Thanks for posting it. That's it!
The connector on the lower left plugs into the back of your stock head unit. The one on the upper left plugs into the IPOD to car. The one on the right connects to the one that you removed from your stock head unit.

Thats a great photo.
I also heard that even though your 'vette may not have the cd changer in the trunk, there is a good possibility that the cables were run, and not used.
Anybody confirm this?
I just got my Zune the other day. I defiantely wanna hook it up to the Bose Head Unit. So if I DO NOT have a CD Changer, I need the PXHGM4
Harness to make a aux2car work with the deck? I wanna order this asap, cause the fm transmitter I got sucks a mean one.
