Default Please Help. I am confused

First let me say, I 'm sorry, but I have not been able to digest this entire thread.
I have a 1999 Coupe without the rear multi-changer, but have the CD in the head unit.
I would like to add IPOD capability.
Is all that I need the PXHGM4 and IPOD2CAR?
What is the AUX2CAR?

More importantly, where is the best source for these items?
Cardomain or discountcarstereo.

Thanks for the help.

There are more than one solution. I would go with the IPOD2car and the PXHGM4. I got my IPOD2car from an ebay vendor and the PXHGM4 from cardomain.com

You may be able to shop around and find a better deal.

This looks like a pretty good deal also if it is the correct cable.

The C6 have a different system and will use a different unit. I think if you have the XM unit it will work better.

I have a 99, which did not originally have the cd changer wire. I added that wire and a cd changer a couple of years back and now have the pxhgm2 and ipod2car. Would there be any benefit to using the pxhgm4 instead? I cannot control the ipod from the h/u consistently. Forward works OK, back hardly ever works.

I can not honestly tell you if that will help or not. It does seem that folks with the trunk changer have more noise related isssues.

I think it would be worth a try though. If you decide to give it a shot, please let us know.

I sent an email to peripheral asking the same question, I'll see what they have to say before I change anything.

Reply from peripheral:

We actually have found that the controls are more consistent if the module is installed behind the radio with a PXHGM4 cable.

Guess I'm gonna order one and give it a try.

I love it. In other words, "We know it sucks, best of luck to you."

So, it's not perfect. Sometimes I advanced up to 16 songs, other times, it recycles after 2-3. But control through the iPod takes care of that, and, for me, it seems a better solution than opening up the dash and connecting through the back of the radio.

I have no problem with connecting to the back of the radio. I just don't want to spend $$ and time if it's not going to make a difference. This (inconsistent control from the h/u) is obviously vehicle specific, as my Tacoma set has no problems whatsoever. I ordered the pxhgm4 today, I'll post here how it goes.

Mine has worked pretty well for me hooked up at the back of the head unit.

Good luck

They should all work as I'm sure no one wants to replace all of their IPOD gadgets.

I think I'm going to get a new 8GB Nano and pass my 2GB down to my daughter.
