HELP Finding my old Corvette

I saw my '88 yellow convertible two years after I sold it. In fact, I made a special trip to look at it. Won't do that again! It was in mint condition when I let it go, a first-place winner in all judged Corvette shows for quite some time. What I saw two years later was a disgrace!
Paint was full of dings and scratches, chrome wheels totally corroded, weatherstripping gouged, the back window impossible to see out of, the top was ripped, the interior was all slicked up with some sort of greasy Armor-All type of product. Absolutely disgusting!! What a shame after only two years. You might want to re-think your goal!Elaine
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I do agree with the other posts that warn you of what you might find when you do track down your former VETTE.
I did that with the motorcycle I traded for my first VETTE. Couldn't beliveve the difference. When I traded, the bike was literally better than new, with all the accessories I had on it. When I saw it (only 2 years later) it looked like crap. I was shocked. If the bike was in that shape when I had it, I'd never gotten into the Corvette family.
Some people don't take as much pride in what they have compaired to others.

Just because it is up in the North country doesn't mean it is any worse condition, and in fact it might be in better condition than Vette driven year round in the South.
Many of us Vette owners up here put them away in the late fall before the first snow fall (and the salt hits the road), and don't get them back out until a thorough washing of the road in the spring. We spend all winter modifing, cleaning and working on our vettes (and other cars).
Because of this reason, our vettes get less miles on them them many other parts of the country (I only put ~4000 miles on my '99 FRC and 273 miles on my '75 Convertible last year).
Now, as to your problem. I am a moderator on a regional Vette site for the Twin Cities. I do know of a couple of '99 NB FRC's up in the Twin Cites area (which is on the border of Wisconsin). If you care to send me more info as to what part of Wisconsin, last 5 digets of the VIN, I will see what I could come up with by putting the "word" out.
Hope you come up with an answer to your quest.

BTW- My '99 FRC came out of Dallas. I bought it in 2003 with 36,8xx miles on it and it now has 50,3xx. First 4 years = 9,000/year. Second 4 years = 3,500 /year

I'm going to suggest the opposite of what most have posted here. Go find your car, my friend! The sentimental value she clearly holds for you far outweighs anything else. Even if she is found to be in less than ideal condition, that doesn't mean that you can't fix her back up with some additional $$$ and TLC.
The old saying goes that if you love something you let it go. If it comes back to you (or in this case if you find it again) ... well ... it is a relationship meant to be!

Thanks.

Sometimes it's just better to keep your good memories. I looked up an old girl friend I had about 20 years ago. Destroyed a perfectly good memory I had enjoyed.
