Someone should teach the resentful jelous coward that did that to your car a lesson that he won't ever forget.
Sorry for what happened, I hate to see these types of threads.
What WOULD you do if you caught him? The sad thing is, he'd get charged with a misdemeanor and you might get hit with a felony charge - or at least aggravated assault. Life's a bitch.
I'll never understand the meaningless destruction of someone else's property. It is not limited to Corvettes. Several years ago I had a Ford Taurus (Company car) of which some clown keyed the entire side. I just don't get it!
I recently went to a club where you HAD TO park with the Valet and when I got my car back the very very low rocker panel in front of the passenger wheel well was gouged about a 1/4" deep and about three inches long where they had turned too close to a curb.
They of course said they did not do it but NOBODY drives my car but me and I don't hit curbs.
Cost me $400 bucks to get fixed.
GOOD LUCK !
If they told me that they only did valet, I would of went home.
Hold him down while dialing the police to file a report.. whats wrong with that
OR If I was lucky enough to see what car he got out of before he keyed mine... might take a different route.

Was that the Valet drivers, or their management? They always give you that ticket that says they're not responsible, but if pushed by your insurance company, they may have ponied up.
I was stationed at Oceana way back in the late 80's and early
90's.Unfortunately things like what happened to you happened way back then too.For eaxactly the same reason mentioned above.Sorry to hear about this.
I had decided to sell my 2004 Nissan Titan a few months back and just daily drive the zo6(gets better mileage anyway). So I put the truck out front with a sale sign and some losers come through the neighborhood and shoot up 7-8 cars with a high-powered bb gun. Truck was parked out there ten days, and it took about 8 hits destroying some glass and denting up the side pretty bad. Thing that really sucks is I never have a vehicle parked in front of my home(think it looks tacky). Man if I ever find them.....

It's hard to understand the logic, or lack of, that make people do the things they do. I don't know anyone who ownes a Vette that hasn't worked hard for it. We get out of life what we put into it.
Some people think the things just fall out of the sky and that's just not fair. These are the same people that think the shows on TV/MTV are real life.
I'm sorry that happened to you. I had a brand new Trans Am keyed all over and they even bashed in the top with something. Almost the entire car had to be repainted. Of the three vettes I've owned, the worst done to any of them was that somebody bent my radio antenna on my 77 into a pretzel shape and poured a can of pop on the hood. The two C5's have never had any intentional damage even though they were daily drivers. I had a motorcycle intentionally taken off the center stand and then dropped over on its side... I could barely drive it home because the clutch lever was very bent. I guess it doesn't matter what you drive, there are some jerks out there who just want to mess up your day. I hope the paint shop can make your car look alright again. I feel your pain. I wish places had more surveillance cameras to catch these jerks and send them to jail.
