well as some of you know I am a retired police sergeant from Baltimore County Police. One day I decide to take the vette to work and park it at the top of the parking garage with no other cars. Come out after work and find a nice key mark down the side. Well I then decided to park it in the same spot the following day to see if I could get any action. But this time I and another fellow officer sat in an unmarked van beside my vette and waited. about 2 hrs later here comes mr business man in a nice suit. Well as I watch him he proceeds to take out his keys and proceeded to key my vette again. Imagine his surprise when 2 uniform officers jump out of the van and arrest him. Lets just say he resisted arrest slightly and his ride to the county jail was a long and bumpy one. When I interviewed him he said that he hated vettes and he keys everyone he can. His other part of his answer was that he didnt like it that I took up 2 spots like most vettes do. That was the last day that I took up 2 spots. He was convicted and had to pay for a complete repaint and he got 30 days in jail and 2 yrs probation. Justice is rare but sometimes happens. Thoughout the rest of my 25 years on the job I handled a lot of victims of key damage. One thing that I found consistant was that most of the cars that were keyed took up 2 spots or more. A word of warning, take 1 spot or you are inviting trouble. Many of those arrested said they did it cause the guy was taking 2 spots. Park far away but only take 1 spot.....G
I feel for you,, that really sucks. I know how it feels. People are just jealous ba$tard$ and want you to spend usless money on repairs. Was the car parked in it's spot or did it take 2 spots,, just curious, some people get really pissed at that .. Hope it doesn't cost too much to fix.
It was in its own spot in a remote location in the parking lot! No one else parked even close
You're right down the street from my I live in Pine Meadows in the damneck/general booth area. Never had a vandalism issue in 4 years living here... sorry, that really sucks.
Nice! If you see a 99 FRC all blacked out rollin around, thats me, You will probably hear me before you see me haha

How long are you in the area? As the weather warms we all start rolling to Jenro's on Saturdays around 3-4pm then head up to Bass Pro in Hampton about 6... it's a fun cruise through the tunnel when you have 5-10 high HP cars going WOT
I hope to have my car back from paint this week and finish my targa project by March.
Oh... and I have only once ever keyed a car. My buddy Peter just finished modding his beautiful G35.
We carpooled to work and parked in the parking garage at the Mall (our company rents parking space). It's normally a non-issue and he parks away from everyone.
Well... some *** parked so close to his car that we couldn't open the door... not sure how they got out. They left a huge door ding and had red paint from his car on their door.
He had to back his car out for me to get in. Well I got in, we rolled up to the fender, then I got my key out, stuck it out the window, and he backed up and left... ****ers deserved it.
And I agree on the 2 spot thing... that's just aking for trouble.
People today have no respect for another persons property. Their Mommy and Daddy did not instill them with the fact that they have to be responsible for their actions.
Only a good left to the mouth will wake them up.

I will be here until April 22nd. On most weekends I go home to NC. I was here this weekend because I was on duty section and had to stay in the area! We went to the indoor go cart place in Portsmouth yesterday! OMG that was a blast. I think we are getting off Monday for Presidents day and we are going to go spend all day there! haha if I am in town I would love to go with you guys. I went through the tunnel yesterday, a second gear pull in there is ridiculous!!! haha

I haven't keyed any cars. But I can tell you exactly what a hard kick to the front fender will do to a car, and to the door... (long story similar to yours). Even though it was justifiable, I still feel sick about it when I recall the way the car looked afterward.

There are stupid, hateful people everywhere.....sorry that you found some.....
Something, brings out the petty little low life in some humans. Like dog fighting or wife beating. Some people just can't stand that someone else has something nice and tries hard to keep it that way. Sorry you found that someone.

these kids are a product of the hateful political climate.
Whan I was a teenager and saw a nice car, my parents took the time to tell me that if I stayed out of trouble, worked hard, and didn't lead a life that needed excuses... that I may own such a vehicle one day.
In todays world, these parents are more likely to spew to their teens...
"That guy is an evil business owner or a corporate hack; who doesn't provide adequate health care to his employees, and he's a greedy polluter as well. His success is off the backs of the poor."
And that's how Corvettes and Hummers are more likely to get vandalized these days IMO.
