I considered an ls2. It just isn't in my budget for right now. Not sure what is involved when dropping an ls3 into a c5 but I would imagine it is similar if not the same as an ls2. I'd love to hear about it thought. It is one heck of a motor to build up.

Thanks Bro...check it out for me. If the heads will come in we will be in business.

Nick,
Hate to hear you have to get another motor. You might call Tracy at Rev-Extreme or look for him in this thread and PM him. He found me a great used LS6 block for $250. I'm sure he would help you out..he's a great guy.

I don't really have to get a new engine. Its just that my bottom end is bad and I'm losing power. The car runs fine as of now. Instead of rebuilding an ls1 I want to try and find a decent ls6 to work on. Add a Fast 90 and some 243 castings and I'll be good to go.

Heck, Im doing low 11s with a tired ls1, ls6 intake, small cam, and ls1 style heads. Just imagine what I can do with a better block, better intake, better heads, and a bigger cam.

You're really going to enjoy the extra torque of a "Stroker Rebuild". I wouldn't think of rebuilding without improvements, this way you're getting something extra rather than just fixxing it. Keep us posted PIT

Thanks Nem,
I just hope I don't have a wheel spin problem with the added torque. I was finally getting a decent launch and now will have to start over.

Are you coming to Bowling Green Kentucky in September for the big Vett-together ?? I need some help so the west doesn't hurt me too bad. Check out the thread...we have been having fun with it !!

Better to have it & not need it rather to need it & not have it (kinda like a gun ) I think the added torque will enhance your off track cruising & SOTP satifaction. With the extra torque you'll just have to hone in your launch technique & once you learn to hook it will be too bad for the competition What rear tires are you running now?...As for the "Cruise In", I guess I better put it on my calender & schedule some vacation

Great, will look forward to it.
I'm running 17" ET Streets..got to a 1.48 sixty foot with the single disk clutch. Robz said the new twin will hurt me just a little because they don't slip much on launch.

Not slipping in a bad way...he said he found the single to slip a little on the launch and actually helping the launch. He went to the twin and couldn't get his sixty foot back down...I think he was 1.42 on the single and 1.47 on the twin, best I remember.

Hey Nick,
yeah....more than ready. Good thing I had the Silverado to hold me over. I have to have something with a radical sound to drive or go nuts.
I am also anxious to see the dyno results.
