On the Neo wedges, is the thinker wire the positive and the thin wire the negative?
I am having some issues with 2 of the 4 spots on my HUD/dimmer. The LEDs are working when tested but can't get them to light up once installed, same with my truck release ?

I havent notice a difference in the thickness of the + and - wires. If you look at them close[magnifing glass] the positive side has the miniature resistor on that leg. Or you can use a 9 volt battery to test them and find out which leg is the positive etc. Dont worry about hooking them up backwards, it wont hurt them they just wont light. If they dont work when you install them, try turning them 180 degrees then they should light.
Another way to tell the + side is if you look closely at the clear part of the led the + side will be the fatter side, the - side is very skinny. Pm me if you have any further questions.
well i messed up my HVAC trying to led mod it. I had the bottom LEDs done and was moving up. After each LED i did i would test it to make sure it was working. Went to test this one and all the lights went out and a little smoke puffed out. Must have been crossed or something. I am not a good solderer and probably shouldnt have tried this Any advice on maybe how i can fix it or what happened? Thanks!
Sorry, it's right above your first post in here, I thought you saw it;
"ALWAYS OHM out your lighting circuit after installing LEDs in the HVAC or RADIO to make sure there are no shorts between the positive and negative leads, then power them up with a 9 volt battery to verify all the lights work. THEN put it together and plug it in..."
In all honesty, I would say it's toast. I wish I had the schematics for these boards... Your best bet is to score an inexspensive one off Ebay or possibly a Vette salvage yard.
I have to give you credit for trying to do it yourself. I was going to do mine, but thought better of it. Even with my many years of soldering smt parts, I felt better with someone else doing the job.
lol, i suck at soldering but figured i'd try to save myself some money and do it myself, now i've dug a deeper hole, lol.
it is a '99. You are JW's LED tech right? If so i already contacted him about one. I know he had some cores available, not sure if he does anymore. LMK what you can do to help. if you'd rather take it to PMs that works also, thanks! I really appreciate it

I do have a board here that I just repaired for you (a track had fried and was an easy fix) I can't guarentee that it'll work perfect but it powered up another unit fine. It's possible that the lights may stay on after you turn the car off... I can't test for that here.
PM me if you wanna give it a shot, at least it'll keep you warm till you find a suitable replacement.
