NEW Interior LED Mod Thread

I would like to see what they look like in Amber! pics when you get them installed!

Yeah they aren't easiest switches to get out... For the Page button I've been using a 3mm discreet w/resistor and inserting the LED into the hole and bending it so it's aimed right at the back of the button. The stock bulb location is just not in the right location for an LED to light it up correctly...Tim
Thanks for your help..

Thanks for your help..
Several of us hosting this Thread did custom LED installs to make the lighting perfect so I don't want you to be mislead with the results you see in some of the pics in here compared to what you might get with the NEO install. The best thing to do is bench test your modded component to see if it is satifsfactory before continuing on to the next one... If you aren't happy with the result, post up and we'll guide you through some solutions.
Just an example, but this is a custom job that took some time and trial and error to get the light levels even across all the components;

But look at the "Door Locks" on the Driver's Door switch, it's still a bit dark in the pic. Although it's hardly noticable to the eye, I'm annal and use the digital camera to show flaws in the lighting... Anyway, I just don't want you to be mislead by some of the pics in here...
The "Helper" LED in the mirror is an Orange 5mm LED, IF (big if) you can crack your mirror case open without marring it, you can replace it pretty easily... EDIT: Matter of fact I have an extra Mirror laying around, I'll see if I can crack it open for you and get some pics...

I think I have one in my email notifications for that thread. I will look when I get home and post.

EDIT: It looks like the original thread is still locked.

We can run some experiments if you'd like to try and resolve it. The same thing happens to the C6 courtesy lights when swapped to LEDs, I was suspeting that the lights weren't drawing enough current to let the BCM know they were on. Maybe adding a small resistor the the wire on pin 16 would help or a newer model HVAC...

Hmm thats strange. I have done all of mine doors, hud, dic, hvac, rear trunk button, rear view mirror and TC. They usually stay on for a bit after i turn the car off but they do go off. Have you tried turning the headlights on then back off?
I dont know what you could of done. You pulled the hvac out, unsoldered the bulbs and replaced them right? Did you put resistors in them? I never did.....

ALWAYS OHM out your lighting circuit after installing LEDs in the HVAC or RADIO to make sure there are no shorts between the positive and negative leads, then power them up with a 9 volt battery to verify all the lights work. THEN put it together and plug it in...
Tim
Do the NEO Wedge leds still require resistors or are they plug n play?
For the HVAC swap, can you simply swap out the bulbs for the NEO Wedges and call it a day or do you still need resistors and what not? What is OHM out the lighting circuit?
Thanks!

I'm curious about the new ones also...
