its all good, I'm at work anyways & i owned a sign company for 3 years and sold it so i have access to any kind of LED but these are plug and play for the price it was close to mine ( these are cut to length if you want but i want to say it was close to 8" or 10") then i would have to splice it anyways i was wrong on the vendor but here is the link I am pretty sure you go to their site & they are still on sale for under 20 for the pair

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...er-monday.html

The top video is the white ones I got...not my car but they are very bright

What soldering iron is everyone using to get this job done? I usually get the El Cheapos from autozone then proceed to lose them after my project, but I haven't done anything like PCB work with those. I'm concerned I may damage the hvac board, or may have too big of a tip with a regular one.

Radio Shack has decent ones. Some come with various tips you can change out for different type of jobs.
Thats what I got and used. Came in handy being able to change to various tips.

I was looking at: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3086619

But it'll be over 50$ after I tips and solder, and I wonder if that may be overkill? I may solder something once every 3 years.

That looks great, definitely better price for the usage. I'm finally getting the parts together to get this project started.

I use this unit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029N70WM...QGJK5K3KAKT4YB

The ability to adjust the power output is nice, so you don't cook the wires. If you've got steady hands, than it's not necessary, but a nice feature.

Grab yourself one of these, too. Comes in very handy (hehe), especially when soldering small wires like the LED's typically have:

Does anyone have any of the 5mm blue LED's laying around? I need one to finish my HVAC upgrade. All mine except one worked and the vendor, Oznium, is backordered. http://www.oznium.com/led

What all have you finished with them? I know the HVAC and Radio look perfect with just the LEDs

I did the outer rows in red and the center row in blue for the purple. Looked really good before I went all red.

Does anyone know how to change out the little orangeish yellow bulb that shines down on the shifter from the rear view mirror?

You have to disassemble the mirror to do it. Replace the factory 5mm led with one of the color you want. Its easy once you get the mirror apart. That can be a little difficult.
