let me know what you come up with for charges. i'm thinking a flat $50 which would include return shipping.
btw, how did you reseal the lights? i know when i took mine apart after removing the 4 screws they were still held tight.
did you use some silicone or whatnot?
$50 including shipping would usually be less than $35 + shipping. Taillights cost between $15-30 to ship depending on the packaging.
I never bothered to re-apply the silicone in case i had to take it apart again. on the first couple ot halos, I cracked the plastic part the screw goes into. This part is very weak in even being gentle resulted in cracking. Ideally one could use a slightly longer screw to re-assemble. on teh last 2 tail lights, i managed to salvage 3 out of 4 of the plastic screw holes.
Taxes? We have to pay taxes? I attended this party in Boston (1773, great year by the way) and it was determined that we didn't have to pay taxes anymore. Didn't you all get the brick mail?
Are they much brighter in person than in the pictures? They look dim, even if they are still visable from 1000 feet. You've got the wiring all figured out... might as well throw in some brighter LEDs for the halos.
I'm not trying to be negative. In fact, you were the inspiration behind my headlights (Well, headlight. Still haven't done the second one). But you've got a great idea, and you might as well perfect it while you're at it.

I was thinking about that idea however it's a lot more of a pain than i think it's worth. The Center setion LED circuit boards are glued into place and they would have to be removed to access the halo ring. I don't believe i'd be able to re-attach them without destoying somthing.
It looks really cool but with all of the morons on the road here in Dallas I would be afraid of getting rear ended
Take a look at the vid i posted on the first page. You'll see that when the turn signals or brakes are applied, the light is significantly more noticable from behind actually making it safer.
If you're just crusing (not braking/turning) and someone rear-ends you, you weren't driving fast enough to begin with.
I've tested the modification on Houston highways and so far i seem to get a lot of space....but maybe that's because of my underglow as well
