I saw the idea. I liked the idea. I had the lights. I had the tools. There was no danger. So I took the shot. I love the out come. (In your best John Madden voice) And let me tell you, when the brake lights or turn signal come...BAM! Your in their face.
Tail lights with right turn signal on. Yes the inside right is upside down. Got in a hurry to see them operate.

So after seeing this earlier today....shows how much I read the general section, I split the cases and went for it. 16 resistors later and you have the above.

These halos are awesome. Can't wait until they come out for the C6!!!

I have been pushing my supplier to come up with something and they are working on it... I have no idea when to expect anything but I am trying to get it going for the C6 guys.

Okay here is a picture of the result.... Yes the far right one's halo is slightly dimmer then the rest, long story behind that one, it will soon be fixed, lets just say I had a small lapse in the thought process and ....... kinda........ sorta....... forgot........to put on the resistors all together on the last tail light, Keep in mind this is after I already had them done but decided I could do a cleaner job wiring and started over. I got the lens to seperate and accessed the led's in the halo, I put in some red led's "had them laying around" and the other ones must be clear and brighter, so I will have to go back in and change them again, I may just open all 4 of them up and put it some super bright led's to make the halo even brighter and at least I would know that they matched that way. Anyways, enough talking here is were they are now, I will update once I get to my final rendition.

good job even though you had a slight issue with the last one. do you really think you'd need brighter LEDs in the halo? the halo ring looks pretty damn bright in your pics and vid.
If you do this right the first time then no, you don't need brighter led's they are very bright for halos, even my dim one is bright just not as bright. Only reason I would change out all of them is if I can't find 4 leds that match the other lights in brightness, going to be a trial and error procedure.
George, this worked out great! Did you decide to offer this service for $50 shipped? I think it is a reasonable price and still sub-vettetax.
Also with this mod:
1) Brake lights/turn signals come on (when activated) while the halos stay on constantly when the lights are in the parking light position and/or headlight on position correct?
2) When the lights are OFF (daytime) and the turn signal/brakes are activated, do the halos come on at all? Or does just the center portion light up?
I think this halo LED rear would go great with the Halo HID you sold me... the box came the other day. Can't wait to put them in this august! In the parking light position, the front will match the rear perfectly. Now I have to get some Halos to send you.
You certainly have a talent for this stuff and are great contributor to this forum!

1. Yes the halos are on constantly and do not flash, turned on by parking light control or entry lights etc..
2. During daytime the halos are off unless your running around with your park lights on . Only the center portion lights/flashes
If he decides he does not want to offer the service of modifying these lights I would be willing to offer the service. Obviously it is his mod so he gets first stab at it, not trying to steal anything from him, just an offer. Obviously I would not ever forget to put on resistors again
