Is "the wave" dead?
and lots of the C4 guys said.. jsut wait a few years.. and the C5 gen guys will be asking the same things....

this thread is hilarious from my perspective!!! They were right.. I had to wait 9 years.. but they were right..

The wave is not dead... and in a few more years C6 gen will be asking the same thing...

x1000I always knew this day would come. It was inevitable. The day when the C5's would no longer be the latest and greatest, but instead, be overshadowed by something newer and better - the C6. Get used to it guy's. You're no longer the new kids on the block and your has-been obsolete C5's will now be frowned upon and looked upon with complete and utter disdain by the majority of C6 owners - the same way most of you C5 guy's have been looking down on us C4's owners for years now.....
What can I say? What goes around, comes around. If I had a dollar for every self-absorbed, egotistical, pompous @ss C5 owner who've said they "wouldn't be caught dead in a C4", I'd have enough money to fill up my gas tank with premium......twice!

Do I care? No. Not in the slightest. I love my C4. I bought it because I love the way these cars look. Their interior layout, seating position, the clamshell hood and the overall feeling I get every time I get inside one - a feeling I don't get with any C5 or 6 no matter how much power they come with. Not to mention the unmistakable sound of that sweet sounding LT1. Absolute music to my ears...
I have my reasons for liking the C4's over the newer models just as C5 and C6 owners have reasons for preferring their model over any other. Different strokes for different folks. We should all be grateful that we're fortunate enough to even own a Corvette - regardless of what year it was made in. They're ALL 'Vettes and each of them are special in their own way. Not everybody get's a chance to own a Corvette in their lifetime and I'm sure there are millions out there who would....
If someone wants to wave to me, give me the thumbs up or a give me a "nod", I'll do the same back, but I won't lose any sleep over it if it doesn't happen. My advice to everyone would be to just enjoy what you have. Go out and have fun with it and don't worry about what other people say/think.
Current C6 owners may be at the top of the Corvette food chain in terms of their "out of the box" performance, but they too will be replaced by something even faster a few years down the road and then you'll be reading threads just like this one, started by C6 owners complaining that C7 owners don't wave to them. Mark my words. Remember, you read it here first.

I wave to all vettes. The really cool old ones, even get me beeping my horn. Its true, that the C6 guys, waive back the least.
For the most, I think most of them just bought their first Corvette, and really don't know polite behavior.
I still waive, and if someone snubbs me, I waive again and make it very clear that I'm waiving. I get 3 types of responses. 1) Who is this pyscho, 2) Hey cool vette and a waive 3) Slight smile and nodd.
The first type, its his first vette. The 3rd, well, he just thinks he's too bad. Either way, they both need schoolin. What you need to do, is roll up and challenge. Challenge to the point where he knows he's a wuss.
Just my 2 cents.
