My two cents... I dont think that I have ever saw a road test in print, television, whatever, that an SRT-8 ran better than high 13s, at times low 14s. Sharp rides just too damn heavy!!

Huh? You must be talking about the 5.7L R/T cars. This is not true of the SRT cars.
the 6.1 Hemi just pours it on, 425 horses in increments as slender as one or two from the wonderfully gradual throttle. This is a heroic performer: 4.8 seconds to 60 and on through the quarter in 13.3 seconds at 108 mph
I guess I should clarify...To compare these cars to ZO6s are ridiculous and laughable. Heres a stock car that cant brake out of the 13sec range. My statement is off by a hair.( SRT models)

I dont know why youre still beating this. 13 sec quarters is stock C5/ F body Camaro times. I understand whatever affection you might have for these overweight Dodge/Chrysler models but they arent even competitive with the ZO6 which has been my point. I have never even seen a drag shoot-out btwn a 4000+ SRT/Charger/Challenger/300 SRT8 and a ZO6. OR ANY VETTE!! How you are still running on about this is ridiculous. Another example: Ford Mustang GT500/Super Snake take your pick......Both cars 3900+ lbs,500+ hp and neither one of these cars are running past stock ZO6s either.

I am not saying that these cars are competitive with a Z06, I just pointed out your erroneous statements. "High 13s, at times low 14s" is not even in the same ballpark as what those cars actually run in the mags. That would be like an SRT owner posting that a C5 Z06 runs low 13s. We have way too much invalid info being posted in the forum, don't post if you don't know what you are talking about.

I'd also say that with the way I have seen most Z06's driven (C5 and C6) a we'' driven SRT8 could beat a Z06.
I was at the track a couple months ago and saw multiple C6Z's running in the 14's. Imagine an SRT8 owner lined up beside one that day and what the forums would be full of by that evening. Most people aren't as good of drivers as they think.

To rbartick....stop being an ******* and pay attention to what youre reading. I have never seen an SRT8 run in the 12s. Modified maybe. Stock never!! Every article I have ever read about these cars they are running in the 13 second range. Why dont you change your prescription, switch meds, or try a new self-enhancement method. Maybe you ought to get to bed earlier. I dont know how you can take an innocent post and turn it into "Meet the Press".

Why are you attacking me? You posted incorrect info in post #61, I corrected your statement, and then you shifted your point to the observation that a stock SRT will not run 12s. Just accept that post #61 was way off and we can move on.
With respect to an SRT and 12s I've personally seen a stock Jeep SRT go 12.9s on a cold day. That car is capable of very impressive 60' times.
Guys, I traded my C5Z06 in for a 2010 SRT challenger (6-spd).. mopar had a good deal running and threw in some coin in extra mopar parts.. so I added the mopar performance coilover kit and the mopar sway bars.. I AM REALLY impressed with the car..
will it beat a C5Z06 in a drag race.. no... not stock for stock.. but with what i've done with it.. its 98% the capability of the Z06 in the performance dept... can seat 5 adults EASILY, has tons of trunk space and has the best seast made since the 1993 Corvette's.. they are FANTASTIC.. (which was one HUGE gripe I had about teh C5Z06). anyways..
so yes.. performance is better in the c5z06.. but not much.. and honestly.. it gets WAY more looks and comments and appreciation than my C5Z06 did... its just a chrismatic car.. people relate to it well.. and that 100,000 powertrain warranty and cheap 100,ooo mile extended warranty is pretty nice also! and.. its GREAt to drive in.. damn is it fun!
I own an 09 Challenger SRT 6 spd. I had never been to the track so I went with a buddy to Infineon Raceway to run the 1/4mile.
I had never ran a 1/4 mile in my life. I had no idea what to expect, what was I doing? Before I knew it I was lined up at the xmas tree. Rev'd it to about 2k rpm, dumped the clutch and was off. didn't even know where the 1/4 mile ended, lol.
Anyway, I ran a 13.5 for my first time EVER. AND I was running 22inch wheels wrapped in Nitto 420s, not the best wheel/tire set-up, I'm sure you will agree with me.
So, with that said, maybe if I were running the stock 20's and knew how to launch the car maybe I'd be in the high 12's.
So anyway, the car is a lot of fun. I do get a lot of looks, lots of thumbs up and is more than plenty around city streets.
With that being said, I want a Z06 because I want a 2 seater thats a monster. All my friends and family tell me I'm crazy for wanting to get rid of the Challenger. Hell, even the car salesman at the Chevy dealer questioned the trade in, lol.
I'd love to have a Challenger R/T as a daily driver. No reason to have an SRT8 when I have a Z06. The Challenger is a great look comfortable ride. I don't think it needs that much power either.
