Your buddy sure likes to take chances. I think I would have paid a muffler shop to do the work rather than put my life at risk like that.

I paid a local muffler place $60 cash to install my catback. Even if it costs $100, his life is at stake there.

Ya...it's not a smart idea.

I too did swap the ti exhaust on the ground. I did not have scary small pieces of wood like you did. I also loosened everything up so i was only reaching under the car for a couple minutes to slide the exhaust under. Also have jack stands and wheels under the car in case it did decide to come over. I don't see any fail safe method being used there...

Common sense should prevail.
Obviously if some one doesn't have the common sense to realize this is not safe: Darwin's survival of the species theory may come into play.

If you care about your buddy, don't laugh at his thoughts on safety and risk. Help him understand this is not safe and make changes and that you want him in your life in the future.

If he is not willing, leave so you don't have to clean up the mess if there is an accident. It would not be fair to have you traumatized because of his actions.

Seriously, people joke all the time about safety. But when s*it hits the fan, peoples tune changes.

While I am not a safety expert, I do work in commercial construction. If people do not care enough about themselves to be safe, at least care enough to be safe for their families.

Think about it.

Our bodies are frail. I've heard of inspectors falling 5 ft and seriously injuring themselves.

Andy

The fact that the jack is leaning must also add an element of excitement to rolling around under there.

The crooked wood blocks are also a nice touch.

There's about 4 inches of clearance under a Vette - How thick is your Buddy?

Too thick,judging by the picture....
