Why Why Why?????
come on joshtownsend
for ccws looks greatAnyways GM spent millions of dollars designing a world class sportscar for performance and people go and throw a big heavy wheel that slows it down, makes it harder to stop, makes ride comfort worse and also the handling as tr6speed said.......
You guessed it 19/20, I'm sure GM spent zillions on those wheels to slow it down some.
That SW Z with the 19/20 replicas looks almost perfect to me! Definitely seen much much much worse modified Vettes out there, some might even be worth of starting a new topic.

Just kidding man. Hope you find some humor in this and realize part of the fun in having these or any car is to do stuff you like and enjoy it. Not everyone has the same taste and to take the time to post another persons car and ask why is pretty lame. I'm sure that owner thinks his car looks fine just like you do?
I bet if Andy wheeler did it it would be okay.....

Okay I was harsh on the SW Z I found this too much worse

As for the shifter, it does look a little out of place, but then again it is not something most people will see and it is easily fixable.
In addition, most +2 wheels will weigh more than the OEMs and that is not good when it comes to acceleration and braking performance. "The bigger the better" does not apply here.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Lmao......that was a good one

Everyone has their Idea of what looks good and bad, and what is better for performance or not. To each his own.My .02 I agree with the OP. I have never really liked 20's on a C5, just too much wheel for me. I run 19's and really like them. Especially if you slam a car with 20's it really makes it stand out more.
What looks funny to me is that the car has what appear to be the tiny stock rear rotors ..with all that wheel on top, now THAT looks hilarious

THat and the ***** looking shifter
There are a lot of people that own corvettes. Many of them bought them for different reasons then you or I did. Cool.
Wheels are easily (maybe some what costly) changed. So is the shifter. As long as the car is sound, it's easy to "fix" to the next owners liking.
I don't care for 20" wheels on a C5. So, I just won't put them on MY car. I do not care if anyone else likes 20" wheels, or a tall shifter, or flames, or stripes.. or if someone thinks any change to a C5 is ugly... or any of the 100's of other changes that someone may make to the car that they own. Heck, I like Vettes lowered, but not "slammed". So, my car will not be slammed. I have seen pics of Vettes that are slammed, that I thought looked good! But, it's just not for me. I do like the fact that folks do stuff that I don't like to their cars and post it on the forum. I get to see and make that decision - saves me time/effort and possibly cost of doing something I would not like done to mine.
To me, some cars that have a lot of work to them look great and some don't. But, in the end it really does not matter what I think, it's not my car.
.
. Wheels actually do make a difference in performance. Chevrolet made lighter mag wheels for the Corvette also. Some people may think, "aww those wheels are cute, I want those." However if they weigh 10lbs more each, then you better believe there will be some differences in how the vehicle performs.I have repro wheels on my car and I am aware that they weigh more than stock wheels. However I also ditched the runflats also, so the weight difference should be very marginal. I fall into the category of "I just can't stay happy with stock" so aftermarket wheels work for me, plus switching to regular tires increased other aspects other than weight issues.
