All of those are reasonably difficult to fix. I'd be speaking to the dealer

Love the color!

Really hope you can get the issues fixed without too much hassle.

Had the car up around 180 before playing with a single turbo Supra, starts feeling like a big car (boat LOL, to me). Those liter bikes are unreal. Me and a 10 second 600 are nose to nose from a roll but a 1000 gave me 5 cars and the hit and walked by me like I was sittin' still!

Quick update... Called a local dealer and they said the cat has a warranty up to 80k, just got in under the wire so that is getting fixed for free. As for the air system...Its throwing a code for bank 2 which is the same side as the cat is out on...So maybe if I fix the cat the code for the air system will go away. As for the HUD that will be a fix for next weekend. Now the balancer. Screw the dealer, its 2hrs back up there and more than likely they did not know anything about any of this. I did call and tell the salesman what all happened and he was very apologetic. Good enough for me. I ordered the parts I need and am going to attempt the change tomorrow. Barrowed a 5' long 3/4drive breaker bar to get everything loose, and am going to rent the tools for the pull-install from advanced auto. If nothing else I will learn something new about the car and I enjoy turning wrenches anyhow. So I'll be out about $125 and have the HUD, Cat, Balancer, Air system, fixed by next Sunday. After that its up to the north Ga. mountains to test the suspension.

Take it back and have the dealer address the problems, then let every one know if Bill Holt Chevrolet has an ethical bone in their corporate body or not.
That is a very nice looking vette and I hope they will satisfy your concerns.

This has nothing to do with ethics. If the OP did his due diligence then he should have noticed these issues or it was just a case of bad luck with all the things going wrong at once...

Let's not forget, at the end of the day it's a 7 year old car. If he wanted a perfect car with no repair costs he should have bought new...

I guess with all the defensive responses that continue to come towards people that think the dealer should be honorable, stand up, ethical and so on says more than words can continue to express. the bottom line IN my opinion is any dealer that does not have the honor to stand by there product that they sell and make a profit on should not be in business at all. Sometimes you need to lose money to gain a reputation that make people want to do business with you in the future and recommend going to you as well. but I guess it comes down to whether you care about getting over on people to make the very important PROFIT. It does seem that profit's gets bigger when people see a company that is stand up and stands by there products as so many do on this site. it is very apparent that he does not.

If bought in Ga - there is a lemon law. I would look it up and have a chat with the dealer.

Default Fixed, I think...

Just got the harmonic damper on...Holy $*** That was a PITA big time. upon inspection I found the old one separating (took pics) New one looked awesome compared to the old one. Put it on 10hrs. The rack was a pain until I took the front sub frame or whatever loose. Well I got it on and it also has a slight wobble. But its staying on for now. It was a powerbond but I don’t know if there is anything really wrong with it. The belt doesn’t make any noise and the tensioner doesn’t bounce anymore so maybe its all good...Any thoughts. and yes it was installed correctly.

It's the old profit is a four letter word stance...

For the record, I do issue one time partial refunds in certain circumstances. And I have taken a loss on a product.

Do a search function in C5 tech, some wobble is normal...

This thread prompted me to take another look. It does seem odd there is any wobble at all??? Does anyone know why???

The tensioner is smooth as can be though and the belt stays true despite the wobble...

By the way, my a/c compressor went out the other month, should I take the car back to the auction and demand they stand behind their product???

I Need to really get in close but when I looked at it (4a.m.) the belt was running true on the balancer and I know for a fact that the tensioner is smooth as glass. It did have a slight squeak but that subsided after about 10min of running and has not returned. I just posted a new thread asking for advice about the wobble. Possible defective part?

I tried to get some answers about the new balancer wobbleing by starting a new thread but
everyone over there are just being a$$ holes. But you guys are cool so I decided to come back over here to see if y'all have any ideas why it would wobble. I wish I had been able to get a service manual before I started but it's my wifes DD so I had to fix it asap. Now it has a radiator hose leak and I'm in Mobile Al working. If she would just go buy a new screw type clamp she could fix the dang thing but she acts like it would be too hard to turn a screwdriver. It is just the dang hose on the very top pass side. The hoses looked good when I checked them ( no swelling or cracks ) but I guess I'll be changing that when I get home.

Seeing you are new here, "over there" is really here, as we are one big community. You responses were low "over there" because there are numerous threads on the "wobble" of the harmonic balancer, which you even noted in your opening post. The guy who addressed your issue in that thread, lucky131969, is one of the best resources on this forum (and I speak from experience, been here since '02 with 11,000 posts)...

That being said, I would suggest doing what I originally suggested.

Hit "Search" on the top bar.

Select "Advanced search".

Type "harmonic wobble" in top left field.

Select C5 Tech on right side...

Select "Show as posts" on lower left...

Set aside 1-3 hours for reading the multiple previous threads...

I know this cause after your initial thread I did the exact thing, and spent 2 hours the other night making notes, cause I too have the infamous "wobble"... For the record, my wobble is mostly "visual"...

Thanks man, I was not trying to disrespect anyone in this forum I have just been frustrated with this dang car and looking for answers.

I just got back in town so I’m going to take a closer look at the balancer to see if it could be an optical illusion. I did not change the belts when I had them off because nobody that was open last Sunday had them in stock. But I'm going to check around and get a couple new ones to go on. The old ones were looking a little rough.

Sorry you had all these problems. i bought mine in Oct and have had a few problems myself. I am not used to these problems because my DD is a Honda. I have been driving a Honda for 20 years with no issues. Hang in there. The car is great when you fix these headaches. I cannot believe how bad a car GM can produce. They should be ashamed of themselves. Enjoy the ride when you fix these issues.
