Retired (six years), 53 now, still have my hair and still fit in my uniform pants I wore when I started emergency service work 30 years ago.
Would still be working if enough injuries hadnt piled up over the years in conjunction with enough close calls to push the balance over to wifey's side (of "what are you waiting for, to come home dead "), so I pulled the pin. Miss work every day
As far as "mid life crisis", dont know, maybe wifey is having a mid life crisis, she bought me the car (it was a post 9/11 thing, long story).
Bored silly sometimes but humbled by our good fortune and greatful every day
Been retired for 16 years, had my current Corvette for 7 years. All I can say is getting older sure beats the alternative! By the way, i still have plenty of hair!
Retired at 57 on 4/30/2010, now 58, closed escrow on a house in another state(here) 4/30/2010, moved, arriving here on 5/3/2010...new life began! '99 back from my son, whom I gave it too, two years ago and the '07 that I bought via the R8Cn in Oct. '06, is in there with the '99. When the C-7's come out, depending on what they look like, I might have to have one of them too.

66, been retired for three and have just about all my hair plus a gray beard. Have always had fast cars and still have my Harleys, three of them. Wife doesn't think I'll never grow up, and I hope she's right.
Retired May 2007, (2) Corvettes, 2004 vert/2006 vert. Corvettes, softball, golf in the summer, travel, & bowling in the winter. Always something to do......Only down side of retirement is it means you are getting old.
...I hope this isn't a "Mid-life" crisis, as I'm 29. Bought the vette last year right before my birthday, so had it @ 28... Full head of hair, and I work Full-time. Trying like hell to pay off the Vette before the Babies start coming...Either way, it's not going anywhere (unless I'm driving it!) Still looking at another 33 1/2 years of work, but I couldn't wait til retirement for my Vette!
Got my vette at 59. Not retired, not bald (mostly gray). Never grew up. Had many muscle cars (all GM except the first year Dodge Charger) but never a vette until now.
retired at 59 ............70 in 3 months........thinning grey hair......just bought my 5th vette last week a 86 red vert to fix up for wife....if 2nd childhood I'm just happy to be in it!
Retired 10 yrs ago. Wil be 71 this year got lots of hair thats really not my choice of color, got lots of belly too.Bought my first vette [2001 white C5 vert.]for my 70th birthday and I never got close to growing up.
The "hair" comments are hilarious Yep, still have mine too, thankfully, but unfortunately, its all gray these days. Oh well, we can beat most every car on the street with ours, but we can't beat "Time".
Fact is, a lot of Corvette drivers are older. Alot of older men are bald. Another fact is, younger people are less likely to be able to spend the $$ on a Corvette when other priorities are consuming their expendable income.
I guess I have to ask. If the Corvette is for old bald guys, what is the alternative (same price range, performance and looks) for the younger guys? IMO there is no competition.

Yeah, because usually you couldn't buy one until you had save your money,by then you were old and bald. Unless you had a well paying job.
I was lucky and had an excellent job that allowed me to be able to buy one and still be able to support myself. Many others have had the same luck as well, and have been able to own one at a young age,but that was not the norm..
Now a days credit is cheap to get, this has made it easy for the corvette to be owned by younger folks.
Then there are those that still live at home and all they own is their Corvette payment book. I'm old, bald and own a Corvette. Plus don't care! Just doesn't get any better.
