Vortex Lip Install (Pics)

I'm still waiting for my side skirts and I'm not sure what to do about the rear-end yet. I've seen a couple of threads regarding a carbon fiber diffuser (Corvette Creationz Z06 group buy) and have even thought of carbon fiber vinyl, but I'm still undecided.Ok, so back to the Vortex Lip install....
1. Jack up the front-end to gain access under the front bumper.
2. Remove the air deflector, left and right outer valances, and fascia close out panels.

3. The Vortex Lip has to be drilled for mounting. This could be a little scary (drilling something you just spend $$), but it's not all that bad. Kind of like drilling through plastic. My lovely assistant (wife) helped me align the lip so that I could mark the center two (one on each side) holes.

4. Once you have the center mounted drill two holes (each side) and use original screws hole that mount the outer valances and close out panels.

Outside mounted...

5. Once you have the center and outsides mounted checked the fit before proceeding...

6. You need to drill through your front bumper, so hold the vortex lip to check the best location. I drilled through the vortex lip and bumper at the same time. Installed the lip with stainless steel hardware from Home Depot..

7. Next, you will need to cut the nice carbon fiber lip....Yes cut!
For the center mounting locations, the manufacture built up the sides which conflicts with the center air deflector being installed.
8. I used a Dremel to cut and form the vortex lip (it was like butter).

Finally, Vortex Lip installed!

Thanks Pete Quik Z06 (Corvette Creationz)....I love it!

Just seems mike a lot of work to get this to mount right. Wonder if there is a reason for holes not being there and the spoiler fitting correctly?

The manufacturer needs to fix this and perhaps add the pre-drilled holes/hardware. Even if they have to increase the production cost to do so and raise the retail cost $50 to cover the expense. This should be bolt on/plug & play. Very nice write up and pics. Thanks!
I'm a little concerned with how far back the spoiler goes back as it seems to cover a lot of the original open air flow box. It seems as though by looking at the pictures, there is only about 1" between the back lip of the splitter and the OEM flex spoiler which is designed to push air up into the intake. Or does the front opening in the splitter supposed to direct the air up instead?
In the end, it looks great!

BTW - you might want to get a set of Fangs.
