I didnt use any and only had a slight rub on my front right wheel where the powder coat was a bit heavy, its fine now.

Car looks great. Makes me wish I went black.
Thanks man, front tires are 295/30/18. Ive lowered the front all the way on stock bolts and used wcc rears but I would guess about 1-1.5 inches if not more on the rear.

For those on this thread who have gone with a C6Z brake conversion on your C5Z or are considering going this route, is it pretty much a direct swap out with our C5Z setup or will I need to purchase other parts (i.e. brackets/brake lines...) besides the obvious (calipers/rotors/pads)? I keep hearing something in these discussions something about the C6 caliper pins.

Please help a brother out. I just got some new TSW wheels (19/20 setup) and my stock calipers look completely lost inside these wheels. Thus my C5Z is crying out for new calipers...It's rather silly I know.
Make sure your offset is correct for caliper spoke clearance. But yes it is pretty much a direct bolt on, you will need brake lines though. I used the WCC kit and it came with everything you need including way more than enough fluid, hawk pads, and steel braided lines for a good price.

Wow that looks sweet!!! I have a black z06 and this is what i want to do.

So these wheels are the ones that came with the car correct? You just powder coated them.

Did you have to grind anything on the wheels?

Yes and no. They are the stock 18x10.5 inch rear wheels on all four corners. The C6Z brakes deffinately WILL NOT fit under the stock 17x9 inch front.

No grinding was required.

That's what I figured.

How is your turning/cornering with the 18x10.5 in the front feel? Any issues?

Well when you consider that the zr1 has 285's on the front and im running 295's, its really not that big of a deal. No rubbing issues, not very noticeable hunting, and it handles on rails.

To your other question, no brackets, it bolts right up with the factory bolts even.

Conversion Brackets are not required. They are a direct bolt on. just need wheels to clear.

Thanks. The new setup looks awesome. Those calipers are huge compared to the stockers.

Yup, definitely doing this. I've already had conversations with speedyhawk for sources to make the tweaks I want, but the just of it is the same. Jake, the car looks killer. speedyhawk, thanks for all the help. I'd post pics, but my car will end up looking like yours. Although, I've had the lower body line around the exhaust on my rear bumper blacked out as well. Really excited about doing this.
