Though this is a good find, I think showing this to LEO will only give him reasons to try to find something more valid. It's just easier to play the game and follow the law. I can find better things to do with my time than being pulled over for a useless front plate.

Why play with a hornets nest if you don't have to.
Sounds like WHINING to me, how often do you think the rest of the world (or even you) look at the front of your ~10yr old car? A sandblasted body colored filler looks any BETTER?
Doug, I'm looking out my office window right now and admiring the front of my car. I do it several times a day if you're keeping score. My office bay window offers a great view. My 10 year old car is paid for and very well taken car of. I could have bought a newer one but I love mine too much to sell.
I think my stock plate that says "Corvette" with the letters I have covered in chrome are way nicer than any license plate. If you have a plate on your car then I think your car looks like ****. That's my opinion. On a public forum I have a right to share my opinion without it being whining. We're just talking dude so lighten up. Why is it that if someone differs with you then their view becomes whining? What shall I call your opinion?

Looks like whining, sounds like whining, must be....
Fellow Texan here and proud owner of two different Vettes over the last 15 years. Neither ever had a front plate on them and I've never been pulled over even though Texas is also a 2 plate state. My wife did however and here's how she got out of the ticket:
She was pulled over on a residential street by a Texas State Trooper (HUH?). He told her he pulled her over for no front plate and then she began to defend "her" car by talking at a speed of well over 90 MPH. "It came from the dealer this way... Why would a dealer sell us an illegal car?... We've never been pulled over with either of our Vettes for over 12 years... My Father-in-law was a cop for 30 years and he told me the only cop that would pull me over was either bored or he was having a bad day... Blah, blah, blah......."
After a few minutes of not being able to get a word in edge wise the Trooper handed her back her license and told her to move along. I guess he must have been married too.
Yes sir Vette26, ya gotta love a good woman. I sure wish I could have been there to see her in action.
Doug, Doug, Doug, again you miss the point. The person in the video wasn't what I was wanting you to focus on. Since that went over your head too, let me show you my point so maybe, just maybe, you can see what I'm talking about.
My way
Your way
Which looks better Dougie? No whine needed but I'll take a beer if you've got one.
I see how it is with you Dougie. You clearly lost the battle so you just ignore the question. Which looks better Dougie? It's a simple question. My way or yours?
Why send me the bottle? Why don't you bring it? PM me if you like. I think we're beating a dead horse now so I'm done on this. There are some people you just can't talk to and there are some that aren't even worth talking to. You are both.

Don't want to waste my time going to Texas-
Again, I don't think about the plate-all my cars have legal plates on them, if something useless like this is IMPORTANT to you, you need a new life.
The ONLY thing I don't have a plate on is the Motorcycle-they only sent me ONE.
You got away "Cheap". I got pulled over in Rolling Meadows, IL on Algonquin Road at Route 53. A Cook County cop gave me a $120 ticket for having my front license plate in the window on the dash board. Hence my signature pic now shows a plate.
Before I could pull away, that county cop nabbed another person with no front plate. He was bringing in over $500/hour for Cook County. What a racket. Between stuff like this, my real estate tax hike, our local sales tax hikes, toll hikes, and our wonderful Illinois state tax hike......words don't describe how I feel. If I wasn't so tied to this state with family and job, I would love to cash out and leave, never to return.....never ever......never......ever.
Ok, calm down. Just hit the "submit" button.
And yes, here is another cry baby.
I couldnt agree with you more brother, I absolutely despise and detest this state, but when u are upside down $100k+ on your house........I will be fighting my hike on real estate bill next week, such BS, what a craphole
I never look at or think about the front plate unless I'm washing the car-if you spend more time thinking about your front plate, maybe you need more to do?
Well I'm surprised to see so many responses to my original post. I initially wrote it in a flurry of anguish. Being the end of the month I felt I was ticketed because they hadn't met their quota,. The LEO even stated if I wanted to dispute the ticket, which they considered a moving violation, I could contact his brother-in-law attorney. The cashier at the police station said if I wanted it deleted from my record that would be another $65.00. All in all I'm over the anger and I still think my C5 is the most beautifully designed car. Plate or no plate. "DONE"

That Leo was a moron then. I'm sure you are an upstanding citizen, but many people are not. Running no front plate when it's required is a perfect reason for an officer to pull someone over and under the right circumstances, maybe find something else on the individual.
IN GENERAL: the law is the law, like it or hate it, it is mandatory. Don't cry if you break the law and get a ticket.
