Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I can't stand shiny dash boards - I think Armour All is the sperm of Satan. But that's just one vette heads opinion.

To me, that is something you do to cheap car that needs something covered up. Anyone else agree? Plasti-dip comes off easy for a reason I have never seen Plasti-dip on a Porsche, Ferrari, or other high end cars

Someone with a daily driver or who does interstate driving, maybe it would protect their car during the week and then peel it off for the weekend cruises. Hell I don't know, just thinking.

Like stated before, it's a medium that lends itself to experiments!

For example, I did my rear lower facia about 2 years ago. In this specific case, it allowed my to diffirenciate my car from other C5's. It alowed me to do this for a measly $6 bucks, hard to beat! Here is a pic:

I think it looks great (reason I did it). Again if I ever decided to get rid of it, I could. Just my .02

Total agreement. I don't get it either. Seems to be limited to the C5 Forum only. Do a search.

The younger guys I know would have the same bike and change all that chrome to black.
Exactly, it is about a different generation sometimes. My dad has a 68 gt mustang that he loves to have chrome on but I like to be more subtle. I've had a few times where a guy in a nice c6 will come up and complement me on my plasti dip rear that i did for $6 that looks like a $200 paint job. I personally really like it and I haven't come across someone who hasn't. I think you should definitely try it if you are on the fence about it. If I was driving a porsche or ferrari, I would probably not put it on my car but this is my c5 vette, if i don't like it, I can peel it off. No harm no foul.

I did my lower rear fascia with it too and it turned out great. I do think there is a limit with this stuff though. Using it to get the look of an expensive rear fascia for $10 is one thing. You want to do your $1000 beater in PD for a cheap paintjob, that's cool. To PD your entire C5 in the stuff is really getto to me. To each their own though.

I'm not sure I would want to put Plasti-Dip on my car but hey, like others have said it can be easily removed, so no harm done. It does allow you to experiment with different designs and in some cases, actually does look pretty good (like on the lower part of the rear fascia, halo, etc.).

I dont see the big deal, in fact I like the idea. Im going to do my quad tires and truck running boards.

Its only a car, a C5 at that. And its harmless to the current paint job, and thats the beauty of it.

Had I not told anyone on this forum it was PD, I have a feeling a lot of guys would've told me it looked great and what a fine mod it was.

I'd spray my whole car with it.....................if I was going to store it in a barn for the next fifty years.

I think it has it's place. I didn't see one example shown on this thread that looked bad and one of them I thought looked great. Even if it did look bad, it's easily removed. It's like every other mod, some people like it and some don't.

Funny how on this thread every example looks great. I especially like the effect of the black on black hash marks. On another recent version of this discussion not one looked good.
