My wife has a few tats, and there are no "unblemished" bodies in this world that "I" find more beautiful than hers.
See what I did there.
Well played sir.....well played.
Tattoos on women and PD on corvettes.....hmmmm, not really a fair comparison. You can peel PD off, tattoos on women...Not so much....well, technically you could peel a tattoo of a woman but unless your name is Hannibal Lector, it's not good for business.
Better comparison - temporary tattoos on women is like plasti dip on a vette.
Oh No! More Plasti-Dip!!!
For $6 who cares!? I always wanted to see the lower fascia painted a satin black, but didn't want to remove bumper or mask the entire car to use an automotive paint on it. I just used the plastidip about an hour ago! I'm not a fan of black rims either (Took forever to find a set of Z16 rims because I don't really even care for the grey on the regular Z rims) maybe I'm "In between" generations? The close up pic shows the PD still wet in certain areas, it completely dried while I installed the mufflers and tried to align the tips (Still needs some work on the tips). It didn't come out perfect, but a few weeks/months down the road, it'll be easy to remove! Now I'm thinking of doing a small area on the lower front fascia
Yeah.... Need to rip it off and re-spray though. There is a small edge is a little jagged because I left the tape on too long. Hard to notice but it's the only thing I see when i look at it. Figured I'd wait until I swap out the exhaust.
Jax and others who have had PD on for awhile and then removed/going to remove it: did you notice any discoloration to the paint after having the dip on for so long?????
Thanks

I took off my BSM, and there was zero difference in the paint. I have a 98. Not plasti-dip, but a good indicator of what you might expect of you go that route.

I'll post up when remove it, I'm thinking it will be okay though.
Thank you! With the exception of lining up the exhaust tips after re-installing the mufflers, that outline took the most time, and its what didn't come out just right. Had thought about using a black pinstripe, but a roll of that is more than 1/2 the price of a can of PD
Yes sir, check out my profile. It has come along way since then, I need to update the pics.
Very nice install. I thought about doing the same exact thing with my Trans Am a few years back, but bought my first Vette instead and forgot about doing an in-dash 10". Nice job.

Looks like it came out really nice. That's exactly what I planned to do with my MY Z06 too. Except now that dipyourcar.com has a bunch of different colors and can make a color for you, I plan to change the color of my car completely just to see how I like it.
I put plasti-dip in the same catagory as caliper covers, cheap shortcuts
Interesting.
So, unsure of how your wheels would affect the look of your car, you would rather drop $600+ to have your wheels powder coated only to find that they don't really look the way you envisioned, than spend $20 on 3 cans of Plasti-Dip and prototype your idea?
Or, you would rather pay the bodyshop $600.00 to repaint your entire tail section only to find out "blacked out bumper" is not the look you wanted, than spend $12 on 2 cans of Plasti-Dip to prototype your idea?
You sir, are a genius - a genius I tell ya
Actually, the real genius is that dude that started DipYourCar.com. He is selling Plasti-Dip like it is crack
