Thanks for the feedback, all. Vetteman... Thats too funny. I will do some research during the next couple of days and hopefully by the weekend, I will have some sort of positive outcome.
Depending on how deeply the "poo" penetrated the clear coat, you might try some Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax. I use this stuff to remove some pretty nasty surface scratches with amazing success. Make sure to get the paste though, not the liquid, and put a little elbow grease into it. It's relatively cheap so it's worth a shot, and may save you time and money.
Still havent had a chance to look into which item I will try, but I will let you all know once I do.. Just too much working hours and not enough play hours.
Try Nu Finish Scratch Doctor:clear coat scratch remover.
Had a couple bird poop etchings on my TBSS and my son's HHR for about a year or more. Tried all kinds of stuff to remove them with no success. Nu Finish and a microfiber towel took it off completely with very little effort.
Now I know those clear coats might not be comparable to the hardness of the Corvette clear coat. And the droppings were not on the paint for more than a day, but I was amazed how well it worked. Can't even tell where they were.
Last weekend we did a group road trip to Brookings, OR and we had all the vettes lined up in a parking lot of a restaraunt. When we came out two of the cars had major salt water maggot (sea gull) poop on them. The only two attacked were Torch Red, one being mine, obviously. I'm gettin to hate birds!
