I also have been somewhat baffled by some of the spin outs on You Tube. Especially the white C6 autocross into the curbing.....just like he hit a patch of ice...weird. But also strange that it had enough momentum and lack of grip to crash into the curb.
Every time I've been close to being out of control, quickly letting off the throttle kept me out of trouble with and without TC on.
There was one time on a curve in competition mode where I was staring briefly at a jersey barrier but again, I managed to avoid the collision with some judicious steering input and letting off the throttle.
Mostly I just rely on my own experience and boundaries to stay between the lines.
Yes, it would be interesting to talk with some of the drivers that are shown losing it.
I would say its a combination of staying on the throttle a little too long without proper counter steer and then getting on the brakes really hard since once you are spinning the brakes are just going to make your chances of a recovery very very low.

It isn't the car, It is the driver, I been driving for a long time and had cars in the early 70s that had a lot more power than a C5, Back then we didn't have the traction control and stuff like that, We had to know how to drive back then, I laugh every time someone says the C5 has way too much power, Sure the LS motor is nice, But it is far from being a monster motor, I guess a lot of the younger crowd that have a C5 are coming from a Honda or something like that and that is way they say the C5 has a lot of power. My C5 traction control on or off drives like a dream, Now on the other hand I have a 72 Camaro with a 468 Big Block in it with a 4 speed and that is a monster and can get away from you if not careful.
