[Z06] Short Throw Shifter debate
I have been considering 3 options, but let me tell you what I dont like about the Hurst;
1. Sometimes it will not go into gear unless I let out the clutch a bit.
2. Very Notchy .
3. Has a lot of road noise vibration.
4. Stiff shifts.
5. I missed 3rd on a couple occasions and at other times notice some gears hard to find.
6. Reverse takes an arm to engage
What I want;
1. I want smooth butter smooth shifts with a simple click
2. Easy gear location
3. Directed shifts 1-2-3-4.
4. I dont want reverse to be a Bit@#
5. I would like for my wife to be able to drive this, as she also loves a sports car..
So my current choices are
MGW
Kirban Kwik
RSD Snap.....leaning towards this one..
What do you guys think?
EDIT: The more I read about the Kirban, the more it also sounds like a good option. They claim 20% shorter shifts than stock, but the handle is only 1/2" shorter. Since the leverarm isn't cut down much, shifts should still be relatively easy.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Now I am thinking about doing that, I did this with my old FRC and I think the shifts were better, but I cant remember.
The Kirban sucked in my FRC but in 2 of my friends Z06's it was killer smooth.
So I wonder if the C6 shift box with a Kirban would be the best option........hmmm

threaded shifter. If you like the C6 shifter but want a slightly shorter
throw, this will work well for you. You won't get the ultra precise, ultra
close gated feel but you will also not have the heaviness, notchyness,
or vibration/rattle that many of the aftermarket shifters exhibit. It really
does depend on your personal preferences.
On a side note. A special thanks should be given to MGW for the
incredibly good installation video provided on their web site. If their
shifter had not been a bit heavy for my taste, that video alone would
have been enough to push me to buy their excellent quality product.

a longer shift lever makes shifting easier.
shifting the M6 or M12 is not one simple click, but two clicks: out of gear to neutral ( one click) neutral to next gear ( second click)

The oem shifter was sloppy but it's longer throw made for easier engagement. The MGW is an improvement but requires practice.
