Default Installed the lmc5!

Kept getting a low voltage reading and removed the ignition followed bills steps, and cleaned it. that has fixed the problem for the most, I went ahead and ordered the LMC5 from compliance parts for insurance on the column locking up. Installed today. Everything is going good now. Point of this post, is to let everyone know, rich from compliance parts was probably the best help I've ever had dealing with anyone on parts. He basically stayed on the phone with me the entire process and showed care for me and my car. 5 stars for rich and compliance parts. Would recommend everyone to deal with him

I really need to call him and get an lmc5 for mine just in case. From what I've read here on the forums, it seems like for a '03 M6, the 5 wire is the way to go?

I have one in my tool box waiting to be installed. Was it difficult?

I installed one in mine. Easy with the great instructions that come with them. It took me about 15 minutes.

It's an easy install. Just take your time. Thanks for posting about Compliance, they are a good team.

Sorry, been busy. Yes a pretty simple install, just took me a little longer to install cause I was scared of tearing something up, so I took it extra slow.
But can't say it enough, rich was very very helpful. 5 stars

Specify the 5 wire and you won't have to go through it twice like me. Bought mine through Rick on ebay and there was nothing stating that 6 speed needs 5 wire. Through an oversight I was sent the 4 wire and I got the fuel cutoff problem . The 5 wire fixed that.

The 5 wire must be something new. I put the original 4 wire on my 03 a year and a half ago and it has worked fine. I have seen the pull key message a few times but it is rare.

I have a COH CLB, is this something I would ever need to worry about? If so, I'd buy it now. I'm more of an "Ounce of prevention..." type of guy.

I believe it is fairly new and is specific to the Manuals.

I think the answer to that is "no", Mike. K think it's an either/or type of situation. If you have one you don't need the other.

If I'm wrong in either case, I'm sure someone will pipe up.

.
My car is a manual. I don't think the column lock is an issue with the newer C5 automatics. Looks like the LMC5 is ever evolving. I wonder if they are becoming more "car" specific with which model they send you or if this one doesn't work then try this one.......which seems to be the way it's been done in the past. One thing for sure seems to be most everyone raves about Richards customer service.

I just installed mine today, very good directions 15-20 minutes and I was done. My car already had the COH CLB by the prior owner, but after I replaced the ignition last week I was getting the "pull key wait 10 seconds" message. Since the time I purchased this car it has acted up a half a dozen times stalling when I release the clutch. Last week I also had a friend increase the fuel cut off from 2mph to the max 255 with HP Tuners as an added precaution. If I had known about this item earlier I would have purchased it then. It's nice to not get that error when I turn the key now.

I bought mine from him a few months ago and have yet to install it. Partially because I have been busy and partially because it intimidates me. Its good to hear the company is top notch and customer focused.
