It feels like Christmas in July, hahaha. I got so much stuff waiting for me that I've bought up to this point. Got new tires for the motorcycle, along with a new seat cowl and several different visors for my helmet. The fairings for the bike are being repainted as we speak. Should pick those up when I go get the Vette.

Lots of good news over the last few days.

I finally got to sit in a set of the Corbeau A4 seats, and I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a set soon. My rear wheels finally shipped today, so when I bring the Vette back to DC, it'll be getting the new wheels and tires on it. I am heading to Ohio in the morning, and seeing as I'm impatient and whatnot, I am bringing the exhaust and my short shifter with me. The shocks/lowering kit and the wheels/tires will have to wait til I get back. Be ready for a flood of pictures over the next few days.

Picked the car up yesterday. Getting it all squared away. Plates ordered today, washed, interior detailed. Brought my exhaust, short shifter and lowering kit with me. Rear wheels shipped and will be waiting for me when I take it back to DC. Window tint in the morning, and probably a good engine detail. I've only stomped on it a couple times, and it definitely will throw you in the seat. Speaking of seats, I'm ordering Corbeau seats tonight. Not diggin' the stockers. I'll post more when I get more time, but I am, absolutely, enjoying this car.

Been busy today. Got tint thrown on, 5% rear, 20% sides. Also got the MGW short shifter in. Was a full kit, so the box, shifter and ****. I'll tell you what, it is SOLID now. Only one time did it not go into reverse all the way, but that was my bad. If you're careful and pay attention as your putting it in, no problems at all. WAS going to buy the Corbeau seats today, but neither TPS or Assault Tech would answer their phones all day. Finally got an email from Assault Tech, and they said they'd call me first thing monday morning. Jeeze, don't people want to take my money?

I spent a while taking apart a seatbelt assembly to figure out what the hell is going on in there and why it's stuck locked. Luckily I have a second seatbelt to tinker with, and I figured it out, but I'll save that for another thread. Mine is usable right now, so I may just wait til I throw in the seats to take the trim and all that off to mess with it.

Having a blast with the car though. I still need to detail the engine bay and give it a good coat of wax. Needs a stereo upgrade bad too....but that's just me being picky.

P.S. I know it's 4x4 status right now. I got Bilsten B8 shocks waiting back home for me. I brought my Zip Lowering Kit, but decided to wait til I did the shocks and put the new wheels on to put it in too. Which like I said, my rear wheels finally shipped, so I can't wait to get back and put them on. I brought my exhaust with me, and am just trying to find somewhere with a lift to put it on. I am too proud and cheap to let anyone else put it on but me.

Awesome man, I miss coming home with wads of cash to spend after deployments. Also miss the auto hobby shop on base @ naval station Norfolk!

Have you tried the antivenom mod along with that MGW yet? Good time to do it while you're lifting the car today.

B&B Bullets and MGW, the best mods to start out with IMO. I have both of those mods and love it. Enjoy your well earned ride.

Oh the good old days. I used the crap out of the auto shop at Offutt AFB on my camaro. Nice looking z. I just got one too. 3 weeks into ownership and already thinking about what to do to her. I haven't had nearly as much time to think about it as you did though.

Well, I was gonna put the exhaust on today, but I don't have any pucks to put in so I can lift it. And we have no hockey shops anywhere, so looks like I'm ordering a set.

This car sounds so damn sick now. I can't believe people think it's too loud. It's perfect right now. Falling in love with this car about once a day so far. Seats are being ordered monday. I'm NOT diggin' the stockers.

The B&B Bullets sound great on an otherwise stock Z06.
Wait till you install long tube headers, Heads, intake, and a cam.....
Then you will understand how loud and annoying they are.

Seats are being bought tomorrow. I'm diggin this exhaust, but I 100% believe you when you say that after any real mods, they'll be too loud. But for now, I'm happy with em.

First off, thanks so much for serving our country. It is indeed wonderful that people like yourself that are willing to step up for the US.

Congratulations on your BB Bullet exhaust. Good luck staying off the throttle . As a side note - we also offer our Fusion system for C5. It is a bi-modal system - like the C6 NPP option. The mufflers use butterfly valves to direct exhaust through a "loud side" or "quiet side". The valves are actuated by a driver controlled switch. Our development car for the system was a C5 Z06 which had a highly modified engine (cams and cylinder head modifications), headers, and an off-road H pipe (no cats). This car was very loud with the standard Bullet system. The customer loved the sound and performance of the Bullet, but wanted an option to make the car a bit more "streetable". Our team spent 4 months working with different mufflers and designs to acheive the classic "Bullet" sound in the open position, yet in the closed position the C5 has a fantastic smooth tone and deep rumble. On the highway there is nearly no noticeable drone in the cabin. You can learn more at http://www.bbexhaust.com/car/corvette/c5fusion/
